The Smartwatch Market is heating up, and even though no single player has been successful here, that doesn’t stop companies from experimenting with new concepts.
The Apple Watch was released recently, and while it was expected to do something revolutionary, currently, it is still mingling in with the crowd, and if early reports are to be believed, it has already sold more smartwatches than the entire industry has till now.
Samsung, not to be left behind in the wake of the Apple Watch and several new Android Wear Competitors, is developing its own round Smartwatch, called the Gear A.
As spotted by SamMobile, Samsung has released a new SDK for developers, and in this SDK, there is a lot of information about the Gear A and its UI.
It will have a 1.65 inch 360×360 pixel resolution display with a pixel density of 306 ppi. WiFi and Cellular are present, along with the usual gamut of sensors, including heart-rate sensors, accelerometer, gyroscope and a pressure sensor.
All these sensors in tandem are supposed to give an accurate representation of your body’s health at any given point of time.

It will run Tizen, of course, instead of Android Wear, and the SDK reveals the unique way in which it would be operated. Instead of focusing on the small touchscreen, which would be obstructed by a finger anyway, there is a ring around the screen of the Gear A that can be rotated in order to scroll through lists and do various other functions, including volume control and more.
It will come preloaded with the usual Samsung Suite, including a Weather App, a Fitness App, Memo App, etc along with S-Voice for voice recognition.
It will probably be announced alongside the Note 5 at IFA 2015.
What do you think? Will the Gear A be successful? Will Tizen get the support it needs from developers?
