[h=1]Samsung’s Gear VR is going to provide entertainment to first class Passengers of Qantas[/h] January 29, 2015 Kishore Ganesh Leave a comment
Flying long distances is one of the most boring experiences, but technology has helped us cope up with the long hours in a cramped space. We can now read Books, play Games, etc to pass the time.
And now, Qantas is looking to make the in-flight experience MUCH more fun, and you wouldn’t want to leave the Plane after that. Qantas is planning to equip select seats in select Planes in select routes with Samsung’s Gear VR to provide in-flight entertainment
You may have noticed that we used “select” thrice in the above sentence, because Qantas’ Gear VR push is very limited. Only business-class customers in Qantas A380 on routes LA-Sydney and Melbourne-LA.
The in-flight Gear VR is equipped with an App that provides 360 degree views of a First Class Lounge, Planes taking off and landing, and even a Boat Ride.
Pretty cool, no? However, you have to shell out 20 grand just to get a first-class Seat on these routes. You are better off buying a Gear VR and Note 4 for yourself, but where’s the fun in that, eh?
What do you think? Will Virtual Reality in-flight entertainment become more mainstream?
