NEW DELHI: Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan took a dig at author Shobhaa De, though without naming her, after shuttler PV Sindhu qualified for women's badminton singles final late Thursday evening.

While Twitter was abuzz with congratulatory messages for Sindhu for her stellar performance, Bachchan's tweet clearly stood out.

"Aap "khaali haath" nahin, medal leke wapas aa rahin hain aur hum aapke saath 'selfie' nikalne chahate hain, (You will be coming back with a medal and not 'empty handed'. And I would like to click a selfie with you)," Bachchan tweeted shortly after Sidhu's historic win against Japan's Nozomi Okuhara.

Indian women are doing India proud in Olympics.

In the US scene...the African Americans are on a winning spree...110m women hurdles race Gold,Silver and Bronze all won by USA all three were African Americans.

Black Lives Really Matter when bringing in medals for USA.

In fact other countries with African origin sports men and women are doing so great.

I really salute the African race..they are unstoppable in field of sports despite the hardship and discrimination they endure.

Arab countries are giving citizenship to sportsmen from africa.

I saw on TV one african girl representing beharien winning athletics medal

They are doing Pooja at the wrong temple.

To win Gold in the Olympics one must do Pooja to the God that stays in Mount Olympus...The Greek God Zeus.

One legend about the origin of the Olympic Games revolves around Zeus. It was said Zeus once fought his father, Kronos, for control of the world. They battled atop a mountain that overlooked a valley in southwestern Greece. After Zeus defeated his father, a temple and immense statue were built in the valley below to honor him. This valley was called Olympia, and soon religious festivals developed there as people came to worship Zeus and to approach as nearly as possible his great strength. It is believed that these religious festivals eventually led to the famed Games of the Olympics.

Yes...but the Olympics is not dedicated to Lord Balaji.

Salutations should go to Zeus who resides in Olympus Malai.

Just like when we do a Homa we have to be specific for the deity and the purpose.

So in this case Pooja should be for Zeus.

Is there a very slight resemblance of God Zeus in Kabali?? :spy:

LOL! I was thinking the same thing..the photo of Zeus has a very striking personality like Kabali.

That is why I love all paintings of Greek Gods..they are so good looking!

Sindhu don't belongs to Greek religion.

And if that is the case, there will be huge rush of sports stars at Mount Olympus during every Olympic games!

And the coaches may feel stress free....
