National Green Tribunal, India has suggested that the traditional way of disposal of dead by Hindus causes air and water pollution and should be changed Eco-friendly method like using CNG/Gas or Electricity etc. Burning of bodies in open using fire woods by Hindus and disposing off the remains in water bodies like Ganges etc is not only polluting the air surrounding but also causes pollution of water bodies as well. Age old tradition should now give way of the technology based Eco friendly systems so as to control air and water pollution, says NGT
