I am having constant conflicts with my wife regarding some traditions.
My wife who is a madhwa and I am an iyengar. It is custom to wear 9-yards during rituals. We were having a discussion about on the occasions she might have to do so. She was soo against it wearing it and we broke out into a long argument.
She is ok with participating in any ritual in the future and has nothing against rituals itself but just hates wearing 9-yards.
Does the ritual loose meaning without 9-yards? I caught between her and my parents. Any attempts convince her makes her think we are stripping away her freedom of choosing what to wear.
