Good joke, Swarna 77.
FYI, I am Mrs. Raji Ram.
In my family and friends circles, only a few do tonsure for baby girls below 3 years old. After that even those who lost husband don't do this.
This is what many of us, Tambarams, are writing.

Please feel happy to follow your own family traditions, which others don't follow.
Good luck to you!

Still you didn't understood the basis reasons for this thread..

As said you earlier as well.. I am just telling about past for reference... It doesn't means that want to continue everything.. what all was done in past..

For understanding everything properly...I have created this thread to improve my knowledge so that if in future any such situations arise...then I can be answerable with all logical reference..

As a female...I know it very well...how much it feels to loose our years growth within minutes.. but it was done wholeheartedly just coz...it was considered by me that it has to be done as a part of culture.. custom.. tradition & rituals... As an offerings at lord's feet... Which is being followed by most of our families since generations..

& To be very Frank.. I have never thought for any kind of appreciation..

Thanks for responding...

Customs enacted but just as a meaningless ritual and not true to spirit. Neither syncs with tradition nor with the present

Customs not enacted but spirit of it upheld. Inclined towards Universal outlook and syncs with both tradition and the present

Customs not enacted and neither being true to spirit. Totally out of sync with tradition and syncs with the present

Customs enacted and also being true to spirit. Totally syncs with tradition and out of sync with the present.

By just enacting customs one is being just ritualistic and being true to spirit one is adhering to its values
