Modi Wave or Money Wave? The Crazy, Rich BJP Campaign
The Wire's Raghu Karnad explains how political parties make money as BJP spends 10,000 times more than Netflix on election publicity. The BJP’s unprecedented intake of funds – including from anonymous large donors – is the single most overlooked factor in Lok Sabha elections 2019.

The problem with such over the board propaganda is that it almost always backfires. Let's say you have an incompetent team who have no performance to show and have also messed up your work and livelyhood.

The more the incompetent team indulges in propaganda, you will get more and more angry. And that is what is happening now, similar to india shining campaign.

That's why you keep seeing these odd ground reports from some media outlets, that this govt is not doing well in the polls.

LOL !!

It is time that the whole Election Process should be reviewed by Committee of Experts to weed out the flaws in the system. EC should have enough power to punish the people using money and power to influence the voters.

Our electoral systems are robust enough and voters smart to reject those who bank on money power alone.

After the infamous emergency voters rejected Mrs IG .Anyone with a not so good record is bound to lose.

There might be over projection of performance but even the common voter knows whom to reject invariably.

Our results are a sum of results of various states spread over the country. The overall result normally averages

out factors like money spent , voting frauds like booth capture in some places , bogus voting and faulty EVMs.

Agree, but in this election, there are 2 powerful narratives, one by the govt and another by the liberal secular left group. Most importantly social media has played a super power role in driving multiple narratives & opinions.

The opposition has worked tirelessly as much as the govt or close, and echoed the people's concerns. Here almost all the oppositon parties have worked to highlight the counter narrative.

I am definitely not discounting the huge propaganda by the govt, but I feel it may not work this time due to the huge economic mess!!
