[h=1]Girl loses way, walkers fly her to Coimbatore for admission[/h][h=2]Instead of TNAU, Coimbatore, the girl and her mother reached Anna University in Chennai by mistake.[/h]

For a group of walkers in Anna University, Saturday morning was no less than a page out of a movie script.

Around 6.30 a.m., they saw a woman and a young girl asking people for directions. Curious, some of them approached the duo to offer help.

R. Swathi, who had scored 1,017 marks in her Plus Two, came with her mother Thangaponnu, a shepherd from their hometown of Musiri in Tiruchi. “They were asked to come to Anna Arangam, Tamil Nadu Agriculture University, Coimbatore, but they reached Anna University by mistake,” said M. Saravanan, a former student of College of Engineering, Guindy and a member of a walking group called Twalkers.

ஆகஸ்ட் 8-ம் தேதி காலை 8.30 மணிக்கு கோயம்புத்தூர் வேளாண்மைப் பல்கலைக்கழகத்தில் உள்ள அண்ணா கலையரங்கில் நடக்கும் இறுதிகட்ட கலந்தாய்வில் கலந்துகொள்ள வருமாறு மின்னஞ்சல் (இமெயில்) அழைப்புக் கடிதம் ஒன்றை ஸ்வாதிக்கு அனுப்பியது வேளாண்மை பல்கலைக்கழகம். அண்ணா கலையரங்கம் என்று இடம் பெற்றிருந்த வாசகத்தை அண்ணா பல்கலைக்கழகம் என்று தவறாக புரிந்துகொண்ட மாணவி ஸ்வாதி, அம்மாவுடன் சென்னை, அண்ணா பல்கலைக்கழக வளாகத்தில் அதேநேரம் வந்தடைந்தார். ஆனால் அவர் செல்லவேண்டியது கோவை அண்ணா கலையரங்கிற்கு; சென்னை அண்ணா பல்கலைக்கழகத்திற்கு அல்ல என தெரியவந்தபோது அதிர்ச்சியின் உச்சிக்கே சென்றது மாணவியின் குடும்பம்.

அப்போதுதான் அவர்களுக்கு கைகொடுத்து பேருதவி செய்திருக்கிறார் எம்.சரவணன். டெக் மஹேந்திரா தகவல்தொழில்நுட்ப நிறுவனத்தில் உயர் அதிகாரியாக பணிபுரியும் அவரை பாராட்டிவிட்டு, பேசினோம்.

"என்னோட சொந்த ஊரு சேலம் மாவட்டம், சங்ககிரி பக்கத்தில் உள்ள வைகுந்தம். பரம்பரை விவசாய குடும்பம். இதே அண்ணா பல்கலைக்கழகத்தில் படிச்சு முடிச்சு, சென்னையில பல வருஷமா வேலை பார்க்கிறேன். ஒவ்வொரு நாளும் அதிகாலை 6 மணிக்கே எழுந்து நடைபயிற்சி போகும் வழக்கம் உண்டு. நான் படிச்ச அண்ணா பல்கலைக்கழக வளாகத்தில்தான் நடைபயிற்சி. அங்கு நடைபயிற்சி போறவங்க எல்லாம் சேர்ந்து குழு அமைச்சிருக்கோம். அதன் மூலமா ஹெல்த் உள்ளிட்ட பல விஷயங்களை பரிமாறிக்குவோம்.
