Marriages -Arranged, Live ins, One night stands

Kushwant singh ,a celebrated writer had this to say on arranged marriages

In arranged marriages, the parties first make each others acquaintance physically thru the exploration of each others bodies and only after the lust has been

drained out of their system that they get a chance to discover each others mind and personality. It is only after lust begins to lose its potency and there is no

clash of temperaments that the alliance in later years develop bonds of companionship. But chances of this happening are bleak. In most cases they suffer each

other till the end of their days.

I think he is very much correct.

I happened to read the latest novel 'One indian girl' by Chetan Bhagat.

Chetan portrays a liberated a BE MBA girl -an investment banker in MNC who ends up with one live in in newyork ,another in hongkong, One walks out of the

relationship saying that she is more career oriented and is unfit to be mother of his kids and another says, she can only be his mistress ,not wife. Finally she

opts for an arranged marriage finalised by her mother.

So all working women when it comes to marriage have only a devil and deep sea option.

Either route any girl takes , she ends up only in misery and hardship .

Read short stories collection of T janakiraman -named Silirppu.

In one short story titled 'Gopura vilakku' , a very good looking girl in mid twenties is over heard praying in the temple for a customer for the night as she is starving for food. She had

taken to the age old profession as her father dies due to a disease and she has no other means to live. After a few weeks, the temple lights suddenly get switched

off and the surrounding areas are in darkness. It is found that the temple priest had switched off the lights protesting the callousness of the village towards the girl

And has decided to help in funeral of the destitute girl who had got pregnant and died while trying to abort her child thru a customer.Other villagers were not ready

to give the girl even a funeral.Religiosity and callousness towards other human beings coexist in our rural society.

When there appears to be no future either in arranged marriages or in live ins -What is the way out?

Stay single ? ......

Many brahmin boys are anyway facing that prospect ....

It seems that unless one is very high in academics or job, brahmin boys have to opt for anyone available .

This caste thing sucks.

Life is a One Night Stand...we live for a short while...get screwed and we die.

Makes no difference if its an arranged marriage or love marriage or live- in..same rules apply!LOL

Situation song:

No need to think too hard...Just enjoy love when we can...we might not get this chance again!LOL

jebon mein bikhre hain taare
khaali huaa aasmaan
haathon mein dhoop hai mere
barfeela baaki jahaan

there are stars spread in pockets,
the sky is emptied.
there is sunshine in my hands,
and the rest of the world is snowy.

rooh gaaye jhoome jaaye
dil kahe baar baar
ishq kar le
ishq jee le
ishq labon ka kaarobaar

the soul dances, keeps on dancing,
the heart says again and again,
fall in love,
live in love,
love is the business of lips.

jebon mein bikhre hain taare
khaali huaa aasmaan
haathon mein dhoop hai mere
barfeela baaki jahaan

dhoop mein ishq chaanv
dard mein aaraam
makhmali har raat
sharbati har shaam
ishq ka le ke naam
dil se nikle salaam
na chhupa na dabaa
ho ja tu belagaam...

love is shade in sun,
it's relief when in pain.
every night is velvety,
and every evening sweet as a sherbet.
when you say love,
a salute comes out of the heart.
don't hide or be pushed (by anyone),
be unstoppable (as in carefree, when you are in love).

ishq bina teri shaamein
khaali khanakte jaam
ishq ke karam se raatein
jo na chamakte chaand

without love, your evenings are
just empty clinking drinks,
there are nights because of love,
if the moons don't shine.

rooh gaaye jhoome jaaye
dil kahe baar baar
ishq kar le
ishq jee le
ishq labon ka karobaar

jebon mein bikhre hain taare
khaali huaa aasmaan
haathon mein dhoop hai mere
barfeela baaki jahaan

ishq labon ka kaarobar..

I think the best ability is if a person can get into relationships without getting attached..but the problem is we humans have a tendency to bond after a while..that is when all problems start..cos once bonding sets in..we have expectations and emotions can run wild when some expectations are not met.

So either one must be a Sociopath or a Sanyasi to be able to live effectively!

I was trying to find out how to spot a sociopath.

Anti social is a general term.

Sociopath could be charming, egoistic ,loving self more than others[are we not that mostly?]not caring for morality ,legal standards, not abiding by societal rules{

well if we can get away we too would not like to observe most rules}. If we keep analysing , most of us could be classified as sociopaths.Again these days mostly

anybody wearing saffron calls himself a sanyasi .He uses his robes effectively displaying extreme emotions with the opposite sex.

We cannot brand anyone as sociopaths or sanyasi.

So all are in emotional hook to some degree.

Getting in and out of relationships , flitting from one extreme emotion with one and move on to repeat the same with the next.....This can be a living pattern.

Of course repetition can cause boredom after a while.

Many types of sociopaths are there.

Sometimes I wonder if most of us have sociopath tendencies...but who wants to get diagnosed?LOL
