Mama Seeru for marriage

i have not heard of mama seeru, from my palghat heritage.

we call it mama vagai - to buy a pattu sari for the neice for one of the wedding occassion, i think oonjal. in my neice's'cases, both bought the saris, and i paid them cash equivalent...
 
Kindly vide cook and see book third part written by meenakshi ammal. Generally 6 yards saree.Blouse bit; vilayadal saman metti and kolusu, tamboolam fruits, manjal; kumkum;flowers will be given.

Our custom in Tirunelveli side and TVM is also the same. Depending on mama's financial capacity and mutual relationship, the maternal uncle gives the ring (golden) also for the girl.
