DIVEAGHAR-DIGHI-JANJIRA-HARIHARESHWAR-SRIVARDAN
(Beaches on the West Coast of India adjoining Mumbai)
(Fun trip for 3 Days + 2 Nights)
GOD created NATURE and wants us to be a part of it. When nature reminds us, pleasure consoles us from pressure. The Family fun-trip provided a Golden opportunity to enjoy the waves, water, air, trees, plants, seashore, beaches, sky, clouds, sunset, sunrise, insects, birds, animals and the like.
While thanking the organizers for the excellent opportunity provided for booking beautiful farm house in Dive-aghar, the backyard of coconut trees, plants, bushes, beaches, sea, kissing waves provided a calm atmosphere and bountiful nature’s attraction.
Tourists landing in INDIA at Sahar, Mumbai Airport has to cover a distance of 175 Kms to reach the above spots. On the way good refreshments / snacks are available at different places at reasonable prices in Indian Currency. The land route passes through various TOLL NAKAS (where in each toll naka, mandatory toll tax ranging from INR 20 to INR 50 has to be paid for availing flyover facilities and/or good roads) Till we reach the first tourist destination DIVE-AGHAR, the vehicle passes through the following places : SAHAR AIRPORT – VILEPARLE DOMESTIC AIRPORT JUNCTION – BANDRA – SION - AMAR MAHAL - CHEDDANAGAR - MANKHURD - TOLL NAKA - VASHI - SANPADA - JUI - NERUL - SEAWOOD - BELAPUR – KARIGHAR - KALAMBOLI - PANVEL - Wadkahal Naka, PEN (First stop for cleaning, washing and for light refreshments). Liked the food and location of one HOTEL AAMANTRAN, Wadkahal Naka, Mumbai-Goa Highway Rd, PEN
After a sumptuous breakfast, the vehicle left via Mumbai-Goa Highway to reach Mangaon, Mhsala, Boli to Diveaghar (the whole journey took about 5 hrs from Bombay). We have booked a Farm House (Bungalow was managed under the spirited owner VASANT B GANDRE @ Post Diveagar, Dist. Raigad) This was our best place to stay for the entire trip. All facilities of stay with good lighting, ventilation, surrounded by coconut plantation and at the back-yard calm and beautiful beach. The bungalow had about 4 rooms with attached washroom facilities with invertors for lights and fans. Cots and beds were provided for better living. Hot and cold water was available throughout. In principle, stay was arranged luxuriously and excellent. Indian Vegetarian and Non-vegetarian hot, tasty and excellent FOOD is available at eating points called as Kanavals @ Dive-aghar.
There is excellent seashore and beach of waters of Arabian Sea. (If we move further, then you will land at GOA and GOA beaches). Whether it is greenery plantations, path leading to beach, bushes, seashore, beach lengths, waves or sea water, sun-cool sets or skies, what attracts you are not clear. Water will make you dance, swim, immerse in water, and will give ample pleasure that cannot be described by words but only can be experienced by action. We found it difficult to say Good-Bye.
To our surprise, the night at farm house was wonderful with no Mosquitos to search or research.
Second day started with a sip of cup of hot-tea/coffee followed by Indian menu of breakfast KANTA-POWA and Tea. Then we boarded our vehicle to reach DIGHI BHANDAR via BOLI and from there took motor boating to JANJIRA FORT (20 minutes). Before the Motor boat reached the Fort, sail-boats were waiting for taking us to the Fort entrance. The passing sceneries cannot be written but provided an excellent opportunity to understand MAHARASHTRA REGION of PLENTY and BOUNTIFUL. Nature has done its duty of providing everything what we require, but something has gone wrong in allocation and distribution. In our DREAM of plenty to hold, we have lost all the CREAMS. JANGIRA FORT to see is to experience.

The Hot Sun has not stopped us from seeing every inch of the Fort. It has its natural beauty in its own ISLAND, of reflection on construction, maintenance of Fort, Paths leading to Forts, Used Guns of different Types and Shapes, Gallary Windows, Dharwajas, Grainary Stores, Ponds used by Queens and Kings for bathing or swimming and the like, separate entrances for designated persons, safety doors for warriors and kings, and big Fort area – Heritage maintenance. For children, it is repeated HISTORY of events.
Back to DIGHI, we boarded our Vehicle for HARIHARESHWAR (another place of Hindu Temple about 1.5 hours journey). It is Old Historic Temple styled as South Kashi. Here Hindus perform religious rituals for the departed souls. This beach of Harihareshwar is basically reserved for that. There were group of monkeys. One of them snatched the Biscuits The food is available at Hari Hareshwar Beach Resorts.
From there we left for SRIVARDHAN BEACH (1 hour journey) for a nice swim, and enjoyment. Some of us took the HORSE-CART raid. Before sunset we left back for our second day’s stay at Dive-aghar (1 hr journey). Dive-Aghar was famous for its treasure-hunt receipt of Golden Image of Ganapati Idol (found in a Copper Box) .
After necessary food, some were busy in their thoughts and a few without their knowledge were snoring and others thought it is time to join their company of happiness. Thus, ended the second day of marvelous travel.
Third day started with “a dream to bath, immerse, swim” at the Dive-agar beach and the dream was finalized after a cup of HOT TEA. All took part in the wonderful journey of bidding GOOD-BYE to waves on waves and over waves. Some children went to the extent of stating that they were ready to continue to stay in Dive-agar and not interested to go back to MUMBAI.
Such was the MAGIC attraction. Some roamed on the beach, some took photographs, some bathed to the heart’s content, some immersed in the water, some of us were chasing sea-birds and the whole environment was attractive and positive. Once returned to cottage, with COCONUT WATER FRUIT was waiting to receive us and everybody relished it drop by drop. Then the reverse bus journey back to Mumbai
