Is lalitha sahasranaman complete only when after reciting sahasranamam, archani and neivedyam offer all are must ? Or owing to some constraints and other factors reciting & offer of Neivedyam will do. Clarifications please

Mere recitation is enough. However if you are a Devi upasaka with mantropadesa, you can opt for elaborate pujas and naivedhyam.Mere recital is enough.

Certainly a recital itself is enough. If possible we should do all. But, if time and situation is not working out well, simple parayana itself is enough. Am reciting daily LS for 13 years. Only when possible, I will do archana and nivedya.
But, be sure after reciting the LS repeat the dhyana and finish it with athma samarpana
"Guhyadhi guhya gophthrithvam
Gruhanasmath krutham japam
siddhir bhavathume devi
thvath prasadan mayi sthirah:"

By this simple athma samaarpana, we are providing ourself as a nivedyam to lalitha. It is essential to finish recital of LS. while doing archana, no need to repeat dhyana.

Reciting LS-Pooja

1.Before reciting LS,One will do sankalpa like

mamopaatha .............''Lalitha Sahasranama paaraayanam karishyee"

or, yaataashakthi dyaana aavaahanadhi Poojaam karishye

2.Sankalpam gives out the intention and satisfies our mind.

3.In the first option , after recitation, one can offer dry grapes or kalkandu as neivedyam,if we feel so, to please devi who becomes "vimarsaa'' due to the recitation.this is because when we recite LS,
Devi personifies herself .

4.As a passing reference ,I want to mention it is preferred to think and pray to Sri.Bhairavaa before recitation ,who walks ahead of Sri.Lalitha, during her sojourn.[Bhairavarai kakkaa pidithaal, lalithaa seekkiram therivaal !!]

Dear Sir:
Whilst on this subject, I wish to add that 'Lalitha Trisati' is considered to be more
powerful since it contains beejajaras. One more .. You can recite Sage Agastiar's
'Lalitha Navarathna maalai' which is as efficacious as 'Lalitha sahasranamam'. Thanks.

Lalitha Trisathi

1. Trisathi is "powerful" in the sense that Beejaaksharas from Trikootas of Panchadasaakshari are addressed in the scripture and they are invoked by upaasaka. The Uttara baaga says ["naavidyaavedhine bruyaannaabhakthaaya kadhaachana" .........the reciter shall know the aspects of Srividya to become eligible for initiation.

2.During upasana[recitation in proper mode -also upasana], the sadaka,Devi and the mantra become /shall become united and one.Trisati readers shall install the beejaaksharaas in HIM/HER as per Kootatrayam and finally absorb Mata ,in Sahasraara in the inverted 1000 petalled lotus where the congression of Kaameswari with Kaameshwara is achieved amidst all aavarana devatas. The upasaka is endowed with 'sudha'' dhaara as a result.

3.Lalitha Sahasranamam is also equally potent but devoid of Bheejaaksharaas outwardly .Foreg-the presence of ambaal as Raagini,Saagini etc in aadharasthanas of our cosmic body ,her personality, neivedyam etc are specified starting with''vishudhdhi chchakra nilaya..............Yaakinyambaaswaroopinee" .This is nothing but antharmukha pooja .

4. Nyaasa is involved for both.

5. As a passing reference ,Srisooktam talks about one powerful secret bheejam embedded in the verse"thaam padmineemeem sharanamaham prapadhye..............".This is associated with Srividya and not apart of panchadasaakshari. In LS,this is indirectly personified thro "Sachaamara ramaa vaani savya Dakshina Sevithaayai namaha:"bheejam is not explicit but the devi is mentioned.

6.i have heard some telling they are not initiated into specific slokas /ashtotharas /sahasranamas etc.Swami/ambal requires only ardent devotion .One may recite other slokas available in plenty .I want to mention a very powerful, wonderful "Lalithasthavaratnam" ,composed by sage Durvaasa [krodha bhattarakaa] ,which describes the 25 forts ,their presiding deities ,devas etc around Mahameru and aavarana devis around bindu.the phalasruthi verses are wonderful if one sees the meaning. One will be mentally taken to a plane where the described vanams, orchards, rivers, natural scenary and isometric projection of mahamery are presented by the sage.

6.In Trisathi, ambal says in Uttaram mentined under 1 above, that trisathi is not for those without "bhakthi".And an initiated person without bhakthi [Refer Narada bhakthi sutram, excellent scripture] in the true sense ,doing prescribed rituals is not preferred .One can refer to what happened to the famous, reverred Sri Narayana bhattadhri ,composer of Sriman Naaraayaneeyam and Poondhanam Namboodri ,who composed "Gnanapanai" in Malayalam.Lord Guruvayurappan gave the judgement to bhattadhri : I honour Poonthaanam's "bhakthi" than your "vibhakthi" !!

Vasudhaayai namaha!!

Sri Prakasananda,
Pranams . I agree. Swami Krishnananda of Divine Life society has explaines in one of
his articles on Devi Mahaathmiyam how the beejaarams are hidden in the slokas.
It is worth doing further research on this.

Dear all

The "thrisadhi" is more powerful than sahasranama, in the sense, the LS was told by vasinyadhi vak devathas; whereas, the thrisadhi was a samvadha between Kameswara-Lalithamba with utmost secracy. Finally it came as Rudra-Lalitha Thrisadhi. The thrikooda-Panchadasakshari (the highest of lalitha manthra) has been secretly covered in this thrisadhi. chanting these 300 namas has been considered equal or even more powerful than 1000 namas just because of these.

The namas starting with "Kameswara" (resembling kamaraja koodam) is considered as very special namas in them.

Devi Mahatmya is another treasure. It has hidden jewels within it. It is also similar to Thrikuda (in the sense divided into three major portions- Madhu-Kaidaba vadha, Mahishasura vadha, Sumba-nisumba vadha). Also, it has some upanga manthras like Arghala sthotram etc.
