Karun Nair smashed an unbeaten 303 to guide India to 759/7 against England in the fifth and final Test in Chennai. India now lead by 282 runs in the first innings. Earlier Lokesh Rahul missed his double ton by a run after England posted 477.

Before Karun Nair, Gary Sobers (365*) and Bobby Simpson (311) had turned their maiden centuries into a triple ton in the past.

Super knock by Karun!!

Nair is the second Indian batsman to score a triple century in Test cricket, following in the footsteps of Virender Sehwag, who scored 319 runs against South Africa in 2008 at the same ground, as well as 309 runs against Pakistan in Multan in 2004.
Nair also became the highest individual scorer for India against England in Test cricket, going past Virat Kohli's 235 runs scored in Mumbai in the fourth test of this series.
It was also the highest score for an Indian batsman who scored his maiden test hundred. Nair went past Vinod Kambli's 224 runs against England in Mumbai (1993).

For a very long time, no Indian batsmen scored a triple century in Test Cricket. This embarrassment was broken by Virender Sehwag. He completed his first ever triple century by an Indian batsman against Pakistan by hitting a six.

Jadeja spins India to 4-0 series victory

The last day of the final Test of the five-match India v England series at the MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai on Tuesday had battle of attrition written all over it. After Karun Nair's 303* assault had ruled out any chance of India losing the dead rubber, England had to ensure that they don't implode on the final day. But they did – from 103 for no loss, England were all out for 207, losing the match by an innings and 75 runs. The first time in the history of the game a team lost a Test match by an innings after posting over 450 runs in the first innings.

Congratulations.
