hi

another ' KOOVATHUR'' formula....
Sir,

You are right... it is the same formula but at different location...it is EAGLETON RESORT. (Link: https://www.thenewsminute.com/article/congress-mlas-herded-buses-taken-resorts-anti-defection-measure-81419)

The apex Court seems to have refused to intervene in B.S. Yeddurappa's oath taking ceremony.

Let us wait and watch the interesting developments, horse trading, anti defection, etc etc

Sad state of affairs in Karnataka! They do not deserve this...I think BJP should have worked harder in Bengalore region & got additional 5 to 6 seats! But we can only rue as 50% of the city folks did not vote!!

There are reports about missing Cong.MLAs, while one former Minister says that none is missing and everyone is in touch

The visits of RG to Hindu temples and Mutts have not paid much as expected

Today's development.....there is another war between Cong., & JD(S) alliance -Vs-BJP ... all are watching the out come of this petition.

SC to hear plea against appointment of Bopaiah as pro-tem speaker today at 10.30am

Excerpts:

The petition said "it is submitted that despite the settled parliamentary convention and practice for appointment of a pro tem speaker, a junior MLA Shri KG Bopaiah (BJP) with a dubious and controversial record of passing biased disqualification orders has been appointed as the pro tem speaker.

"As a matter of fact, the conduct of Shri KG Bopaiah has been severely criticised and strictures have been passed against him by this Hon'ble court. The disqualification orders passed by him were also set aside as being vitiated with mala fides and undue haste in two judgments of this court."

Alleging "a shocking disregard to binding parliamentary convention and long standing parliamentary practice of appointing the senior most member of the House", the Congress-JD(S) combine said the governor appointed "a relatively junior member of the House. ... This is in the face of the admitted fact that the senior most MLA is currently serving his 8th tenure but has been overlooked."

The appointment was "nothing but an attempt to seize and manipulate the floor test slated to be held on 19.05.2018 in the House, pursuant to the direction passed by this Hon'ble Court".

This time he was Chief Minister for hardly two days.....

BJP’s Yeddyurappa resigns after 2 days as Karnataka chief minister, skips trust vote

BJP’s Yeddyurappa said in the Karnataka assembly ahead of the trust vote that “till the last breath of my life, I will work for the people”.

BJP leader BS Yeddyurappa resigned as Karnataka’s chief minister on Saturday, minutes before a Supreme Court-ordered trust vote and two days after he was sworn in.

“I’m resigning as chief minister. I’m grateful to the speaker for giving me this opportunity,” Yeddyurappa said in the Karnataka assembly after it became clear that the BJP wouldn’t get the support of enough MLAs to support his government.

Shri B S Yediyurappa's short lived Government came to an end on the expected lines. He has to pay the price for the negligence of BJP Government in the centre towards the supporters of the Party, (middle class wage earners who ignored the elections this time).

Now Karnataka is facing a political instability. People wanted a change but not this change. It is a pity JD(S) has not learnt a lesson from the past
mistakes in believing Congress support. Both father and son have to quit their posts due to betrayal of that Party, with whose support they
headed the Government in Centre and State.

Congress spokespersons seems to follow the words of Joseph Goebbels, who said
"A lie told once remains a lie, but a lie told thousand times becomes truth" !
Congress which was ruling with 122 Seats in Karnataka has been reduced to 78 seats (-44 seats) as against BJP 104 (+64)and still claims BJP has been rejected by people !

Time only can tell how long this Government will survive.

Wishing All the best to Kumaraswamy to complete the full tenure of five years as C.M. of Karnataka State

Congress reduced to playing second fiddling to a regional party...

Amounts to a Chief Minister functioning with a sword of Damocles hanging over his head....!!

JD(S) leader HD Kumaraswamy to begin second stint as Karnataka chief minister on Monday

Janata Dal (Secular) leader HD Kumaraswamy | PTI

Rahul Gandhi, Mayawati, Akhilesh Yadav, K Chandrashekar Rao, and Mamata Banerjee likely to attend the oath-taking ceremony at Bengaluru’s Kanteerava stadium.

Janata Dal (Secular) leader HD Kumaraswamy on Saturday staked claim to form the government in Karnataka with the Congresss’ help after Bharatiya Janata Party leader BS Yeddyurappa resigned as chief minister ahead of a floor test at 4 pm. Kumaraswamy will take oath between 12 pm and 1 pm on Monday at Bengaluru’s Kanteerava stadium.

On Wednesday, Governor Vajubhai Vala invited the BJP, which won more seats than any other party, to form the government, although the Congress and the JD(S) had more seats. The two parties, along with the Bahujan Samaj Party and two independents, have the support of 117 MLAs, while the BJP has the support of 105 MLAs.

With no party blessed with absolute majority by the people of Karnataka, it will be a great task for the regional party which has just secured 37 seats (37 seats with just 18.4% vote share, which is 1.8 percentage points less than what it had in 2013) to run a Government smoothly.

Perhaps Karnataka people may have to learn more in the coming years for not electing a Party with single absolute majority to form a stable Government.

Why B S Yeddyurappa Shall Rise Again

Snapshot

  • If B S Yeddyurappa’s career till this point is any indicator, then he has already shifted his focus to the next task
“We wanted to bring the misgovernance of the past 5 years to an end. We wanted to provide good governance and development for the people of Karnataka….but it looks like the divine has willed otherwise…..I will go back to the people of Karnataka…..I will tour the entire State once again….we will ensure that Karnataka gives 28 out of 28 seats to the BJP in the 2019 elections in order to strengthen the hands of Sri Narendra Modi’s government…..whether after 5 years or in between when this State government falls we will come back again”

For anyone who knows Bookanakere Siddalingappa Yeddyurappa (BSY), the above statements delivered by him on the 19 May 2018, just before submitting his resignation as Chief Minister after failing to prove a majority on the floor of the house, will not come as a surprise. For the past 46 years of his political career, two qualities have been hallmarks of his personality – a never say die outlook and the ability to refocus on the next goal at hand. Whatever the occasion, be it a victory or a disappointment, BSY has always shown a remarkable attitude of focusing on the next target

No idea how long this JDS + Congress alliance will last in Karnataka and we have to wait and see whether this alliance will also extend to the 2019 Parliament Elections and whether this alliance will bring in more alliance partners for the Congress . Already one Communist leader from TN ( Tha Pandian ) said that it is useless forming a Third front as it will only split the votes and make BJP the single alrgest party like in Karnataka and best is to align with Congress before Polls itself .

Congress (I) is a past master in piggybacking for power. But this time they are trying to saddle a rickety horse, which is wobbling to walk, still try to keep their hold by fair means or foul.
The indications are this State has to suffer for some more time due to political turbulence.
