Karnataka Political Turmoil.

The current situation in Karnataka is alarming and happening in the expected lines. This unholy Ghathbandan is shacky from the day one. This could have been avoided, if the junior Partner (JD-S) supported the senior partner (Congress) to elect the CM and run the Govt. with their support.

"JD(S) patriarch Sri H.D.Deve Gowda expressed doubt over the Karnataka government completing its full term of five years and said that he believes, mid-term polls will be held soon."

The people in Karnataka has confirmed rejection of these two Parties, in the recent elections to Parliament.

Even after one year the Ministry is still in formation Stage. The Government has almost stopped functioning. The coalition is so weak, every elected MLA wants to be a Minister.

No one in Karnataka is ready to believe the blame game, that BJP is instigating defections ! The Government is dissolving by its own folly.

It is time that Governor should intervene and call for the Assembly session and ask the CM to prove his majority, within a time frame or invoke Constitutional provisions to run the Government.

Story about Indian crabs.

Friends this is a story which is telling about the attitude of us(Indians) that why we are not able to success and some other things.

Indian crab
Once upon a time there was an exhibition in which there were various crabs from various countries packed in the closed boxes made from glass so the crabs can't come out of them but only the box in which Indian crabs were living was only opened from the top. So a man there asked from the representative that why is only this box opened and every other box is closed. The representative replied that these are the Indian crabs If one will try to come out of the box then others will start pulling his leg so no one will able to come out of this box.

Hence the moral of the story is- That we only use to pull the legs of each other instead of concentrating on our work.
Hail BJP

What is happening in Karnataka Politics is a sad spectacle for future of electoral Politics. This is the result of ambitious Caste based minority leader came to power with the support of disgruntled majority to prevent the party voted to power in a fractured electoral result.
Now the issue has gone upto Supreme court for judicial review and order.
We do not know how long this "play of tug-of-war" will continue. Unfortunately the Government is yet to start functioning, since the Ministry is still in formation Stage even after fourteen months.
It is time that the Constitution Bench of Supreme Court should review the Tenth Schedule fully and present their recommendations to the Government.

Now that the SC ruling has come to the effect that the MLAs who have resigned cannot be compelled to attend the session and the whip shall not apply to them, there is every likelihood of the trust vote on 18th (Thursday) going against the JD(S) and Congress, paving the way for BJP to form the government. Hope this happens for a stable government in Karnataka.

The conundrum of Karnataka Politics has reached the pinnacle of no return for any Party. The defections and the drama of resignations by elected representatives have opened up a new way to stall the Government of any Party even if they have adequate numbers to govern. The ultimate sufferer is the common man.
In the meanwhile the daily list of bulk transfers of officers have slowed down the functioning of all wings of Government. Today's "New Indian Express" carries the news item under the caption "Shaky govt transfers 2K in 10 days".
"State Governor has issued an order to the Chief Secretary the no important decisions can be taken at a time when the Government is unstable".
We hope the Union Home Ministry is aware of the happenings in Karnataka and will take immediate action as per Constitution to stop this degradation of Governance in Karnataka.

LOL. Agree,

They are very hard working crabs that want to improve Karnataka (which is in the top 3 states in india by the hardwork of the coalition partners ) to the level of other states like Bihar, Rajasthan, MP, Chat, which they ruled for 15 yrs or more !!

LOL

And don't forget the great gujj model, where photos of Shanghai was circulated to showcase the astonishing level of development !!

Gosh, the liberals on Twitter are a such a huge nuisance for exposing such great ingenious development !!

LOL.

It is nothing but greed for power and wealth.
தன் வினை தன்னைச் சுடும்!
Read this short story...https://www.dinamani.com/weekly-supplements/siruvarmani/2018/jul/29/தன்-வினை-தன்னைச்-சுடும்-2970290.html

JD(s) and the Scamgress would have satisfied with the seats they won and should not have ventured into a coalition as both know each other that they are not dependable and truth worthy.

As defined by the media, it is an unholy alliance formed only to crab power, both parties securing less seat than BJP

They suddenly got into an idea of coming together(opportunists), each dreaming the benefits to be derived in their mind, and thus prevented BJP which has bagged more seats.

The fate of this unholy alliance will be known shortly.

There is a proverb in tamil: தீதும் நன்றும் பிறர் தர வாரா

Coalition partners cannot blame others..... bcos they earned this... they are responsible... I mean scamgress or JD(s) both have failed to troubleshoot the crisis.

Blaming others is unfair.

1. How come exactly 13 Rebels resigned to bring down the now of this govt and allow BJP to form the govts ? If there was so many problems w coalition, they why didn't 25 people resign ??

2. Rebel MLAs were chartered to mumbai accompanied by one of the bjp leaders.

3. when congress leaders landed in mumbai, they were not allowed inside, and 2 bjp leaders were standing with supporters shouting them to go back.

4. Governor interference is shocking, when he has no jurisdiction into the speakers area. why is he favoring one side, and pushing continuously ?

5. Not only did they pull out the 13 rebel mlas, they cartered them to mumbai, and now they are blaming the speaker for delaying, giving time to bring them back. Arey, it is their mlas, they have every right to discuss and bring them back.

6. And then comes goa, how come 10+ mlas switched sides and 3 were given ministries ?? so even if you ignore al the red flsgs in karnataka, the goa mess pops up.

Unfortunately, , the new india is clearly and surely starting on a very sour note !!

A bad precedent has been created by the resignations by elected representatives. Even the next Government may have to face this situation. It is now proved elections on Political lines, are not penacea for Parliamentary Democracy.
Chief draftsman of Constitution Dr. Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar's velidectory speech on the reasons for not including "political parties" in our Constitution seems to have come true.

Every state gets politicians they deserve.

People elected these MLAs.

They have shown themselves to be money hungry willing to switch to a party which will give them the best

returns in the shortest possible period.

They have only five years before facing the electorate again for reelection.

I do not know if their jobs are pensionable.

Anti defection laws require a relook.

These were framed years back .

I feel sorry for some of these MLAs who are at the mercy of their party bosses.

No decent person will take to politics if this type of situation persists in many states.

Yes. I think the Supreme Court can order for a floor test to prove the majority.

Will the Supreme Court have to order the Speaker to do the floor test

While Draupathi was in distress and cries out for Krishna he wouldn't stop Dhushasan from disrobing her - but gave her endless saree to save her honour He doesn't stop evil action but safeguards the victims honour! SC refuses to give any directions to the speaker and gives protection to the rebels - can't be forced to participate in the vote of confidence motion!

SC like Krishna is only a சாட்சி பூதம் or a mute witness! They may not give direction to the speaker - a time limit for any action by him - but may subject any action taken by speaker to judicial scrutiny!

Who has the over-riding authority..? Of course, legal luminaries of this Forum may enlighten...???

Speaker facing the axe can’t disqualify MLAs, says SC

Extract…

It is tenth schedule of the Constitution or
179(c)….???

………………..

Article 179(c) provides that a Speaker (or Deputy Speaker) “may be removed from his office by a resolution of the Assembly passed by a majority of all the then members of the Assembly”.

The judgment points to the phrase “all the then members of the Assembly” to conclude that the composition of legislators should remain the very same while deciding whether a majority in the House wants the Speaker to continue or not.

“The words ‘all the then members’ demonstrate an expression of definiteness. Any change in the strength and composition of the Assembly, by disqualifying sitting MLAs, for the period during which the notice of resolution for the removal of the Speaker (or the Deputy Speaker) is pending, would conflict with the express mandate of Article 179(c), requiring all ‘the then members’ to determine the right of the Speaker to continue,” the court held.

Further, the court said MLAs so disqualified by the Speaker would be subsequently deprived of the opportunity to participate in the motion against the Speaker himself under Article 179(c).

Even a court judgment later, overturning their disqualification, would be of no help to them as the opportunity to participate in the motion against the Speaker would have passed.

Karnataka is no longer famous for the Vidhan Soudha, KSR Dam , Lal Bagh etc but also famous for trading of MLA's. This is happening once too often and only the voters of Karnataka can put an end to this. et usll pray for this to happen.
