Job Anxiety- Job Creation Our Biggest Challenge?

Status

Most get educated to get decent employment after education.

We have the largest pool of unemployed both educated and uneducated.

Creating suitable job for millions of these men and women is our biggest challenge.

About one third of women get married to become housewives and drop out of employment race.

Others 66% women and all males constitute our work force.

In rural india where 50% reside, many whom agriculture is unable to support have shifted to services sector.we have large scale employment in rural roads and

rural housing beside many migrating to cities for employment . MNREGA was a boon for them.

But for those graduating from colleges including engineers in large scale have no avenues due to down turn IT and related sectors.Govt employment is very few.

The only response from the Modi govt is promoting self employment thru start ups which has become only a rhetoric than any big result.

There is absolutely no scope for those from tier2 and tier3 cities often educated in local language in institutions of low academic standards

All this might fuel a social unrest which no govt state or centre may be comfortable with.

Spending huge amounts on social welfare with subsidies/freebies for food, fuel, utilities like power, water, clothing can only increase fiscal deficits of state or centre

and are not answers to unemployment issue.

Industries are refusing to avail bank credits and hoping for change in business climate. NPA hunt is hurting all of them. Industry intake of new educated youth is

down to a trickle. Those already committed are waiting for joining dates.

For the unemployed , these are bad times

All are waiting for a new economist messiah who can show green light for their future.
