Thiruvalluvar's advice is this:

இன்னா செய்தாரை ஒறுத்தல் அவர்நாண
நன்னயம் செய்து விடல் (குறள் 314)

( innA seydhArai oRuththal avarnANa
nannayam seydhu vidal. )

Meaning: The punishment we have to give to those who harm us, is make them ashamed, by doing good to them.

But, now a days, if our punishment is 'this', those who harm us won't feel ashamed! :nono:

And we will be labelled as 'I. V' ( iLichcha vAy )!

Very true. Tiruvalluvar would definitely feel sorry for these guys and gals who dont feel ashamed.

'Thankless' and 'Ungrateful' are the persons, whom Sravna Sir describes like this:

there are people, this clan has become a lot, who how much ever good you do to them, will not be good to you.
He did NOT mention 'unconditional'. :)
