It has to. The Governments world over are trying hard to switch over to non-conventional energy sources and solar energy being the major contributor, has to be rightly priced for better promotion. Recently traveled to Deogarh, Jharkhand and found most of the open areas ( not sure whether they were paddy fields once ) were transformed into solar panel fields. Similarly the sea shores of Gujarat, are home of huge wind mills. Era of renewable energy has come finally.

Have you seen the wind mills in southern part of TN...They also play a critical role in reducing the power deficit

unfortunately not. I frequently visit Chennai, Coimbatore, Trichy, Erode & Salem etc. But could not notice any such development there. You must speaking about Kanyakumari or any other coastal district. Any how it is always a welcome factor. All of us should encourage use of alternate energy. we can install small solar panels on our roof tops which can not only easily cater our energy needs, but also can produce surplus energy which can be sold to the state electricity boards. In Delhi, the Government is going to introduce such a scheme, and I think it is already in place in certain states. Governments also giving huge subsidies for installing solar panels.
