Hi,
If a thithi falls between two days; that is for example

Start Time : 06/09/14 05:13 PM
End Time : 07/09/14 05:10 PM

which one should I take? 6th or 7th of september?

only the thithi on 6th is running during sun set time, so you have to take 6th septemper.

if you want to do srartha for a thithi it is the rule thr srartham shoud be offered in kona kalam i.e during madyahnika time.
Wo we thake the date on which the tithi is more time in madhyanika time. I.e between 11.30 a.m to 5.30 p.m. Accouding this the next day is
taken ththi for srartham

for powrnamthi viratham it is the rule on which night the pwrnami ththi isavailane acourding this the first dat us tajeb fir powrnami viratham. It is as per dharma shastrm vaidyanatha deekshitam. I can explain in details if you contact me over phone moble no 94437 7 0691
