Here's Why Investigators Saw Clear Hindutva Link to Samjhauta Bombing

This article was originally published on June 6, 2016 and is being republished on March 21, 2019 in light of the four accused in the Samjhauta blast case being acquitted.

New Delhi: In a disclosure should have made it more difficult for the Modi government to “turn around” the Samjhauta Express blast case, the former head of the Special Investigation Team (SIT) that probed the 2007 terrorist bombing of the Delhi-Lahore train had said there was ample evidence linking some Indore-based Hindutva extremist groups to the blasts that killed 68 people, mostly Pakistanis.

Speaking candidly to The Wire, Vikash Narain Rai, the former Haryana police officer who headed the SIT from 2007 to early 2010, said the police managed to recover an unexploded bomb from the train. During the course of investigations by his team, it was found that all the parts of that ‘incendiary device’ were purchased by people linked to the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh and its associate groups in Indore. He also said that the trail of evidence took the team to Indore where RSS member Sunil Joshi and his two accomplices were found to be complicit in the crime. Rai said that before they could investigate Joshi, he was murdered.

Rai’s revelations had come at a time when senior ministers have openly attacked the idea of ‘Hindutva terror’ and the National Investigation Agency had begun probing the role of the Pakistan-based Islamist terror group Lashkar-e-Tayyaba in the blasts.

Last year, the former public prosecutor in the Malegaon blasts case, Rohini Salian had accused the NIA of pressuring her to ‘go soft on the Hindutva extremists.’ A few retired bureaucrats, too, have alleged that the NIA chief Sharad Kumar’s tenure was extended to divert attention from the role of Hindutva extremists in a series of explosions that took place between 2006 to 2008. The details of the investigation narrated by Rai may embarrass the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party and its ideological parent the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, which have been dismissing the ‘Hindutva angle’ in the Samjhauta case as the Congress party’s propaganda.

This news item was published on June 6, 2016. And it is now again published in view of the Judgement.

It can be published again in view of the Election.

Why not this item again and again published till it reached the attention of most of the Indian and spread to the nook and corner of India.

About this ‘WIRE’ like other major medias ( who are funded by Missionaries abroad), it is an Anti-Modi.

One of the Editors Siddharth Varadharajan penned a book on the Gujarat Riots. One can now easily presume what will be the outcome of his opinion, view, etc which will be always against the ruling NDA

The poster can keep on posting this thread weekly or daily, so that, it reaches most of the members, readers, and more especially every Indian citizen LOL

Any way, I can here someone asking what were these people doing during the trial of the case…??

And most may believe there are lot of Kumbakarnas who are normally in sleeping more and wake only during Election. LOL

We need more such thread to entertain readers. 😊
