Chromebooks are low-cost Laptops that are made for Web Browsing. They run ChromeOS, meaning that your traditional suite of programs won’t run on Chromebooks and you have to make do with only a Web Browser.
That’s a good enough tradeoff, considering that most people use their Computers mostly for Web Browsing and also considering the fact that you get impressive Hardware and great Battery Life at very low prices.
But then, Google changed the definition of Chromebooks when it announced the Chromebook Pixel, a brilliantly designed $1299 Chromebook. And it still ran good old ChromeOS, and couldn’t really do anything other than Web Browsing, despite the powerful hardware beneath and the stellar Screen.
It does have two USB Type C Ports, on either side, and these ports can be used for connecting peripherals and even charging the device, so you can connect your Cable from any side, without hassle.
Don’t have USB Type C peripherals yet? No problem, as the Pixel still has two USB 3.0 Ports along with an SD Card Slot.
It has the same stellar 12.9 Inch Screen with a 2,560 x 1,700 resolution, except for a few color correction mechanisms. It also can go blindingly bright, at 400 nits.
Underneath is an Intel i5 Processor along with 8GB of RAM and 32GB of Storage, but you can’t really use all that muscle due to the limitations of ChromeOS.
Though if you do want to blow your Money, buy the LS Variant, offering you an i7 Processor, 16GB of RAM and 32GB of Storage.
Coming to the Battery, Google has included quick charge tech to give you two hours of Battery Life with a small charge lasting 15 minutes, and with a full charge, Google promises over 12 Hours.
It will cost $999, and even Google knows that this Product is only for showcasing ChromeOS.
