It seems 2015 is the year of big corporate shakeups, because we have been seeing a lot of that this year. Paypal is separating from eBay and becoming a separate company. HP is splitting into two separate companies. Google witnessed a corporate shakeup that saw its divisions become separate companies governed by one entity.

And now, Fujitsu has announced that it is splitting into two separate companies: Fujitsu Client Computing Limited is the computing arm, and Fujitsu Connected Technologies Limited is the mobile arm.

Because there’s lots of competition in both markets, and because the PC Market is on a decline for the last few years, Fujitsu has deemed that it would be best if its divisions spun off into separate companies.

This would allow each to become leaner, management would become easier and both would be able to adapt faster than they would as a single entity.

Plus, it would also make them more efficient, and they would be held accountable for their decisions.

Many companies are spinning off their computers division in order because sales have not been picking up for the last couple of years. For example, Sony’s VAIO brand was separated from Sony and sold to a Japanese firm. What do you think?
