Together We Serve

Hari Om
Chennai : For the next three days, the city will glow under spiritual arc lights as 33 organisations - under the umbrella of the Global Foundation for Civilisational Harmony (GFCH, India) - will offer food for the soul at the Hindu spiritual and service fair at the Jaigopal Garodia Vivekananda Vidyalaya in Anna Nagar.Near Anna Tower
Swami Mitrananda, director of the Chinmaya Yuva Kendra and organising secretary of the GFCH exhibition, said the GFCH was launched in January last year by religious and spiritual masters, including His Holiness the Dalai Lama, Swami Dayanand Saraswati, founder of the Hindu Dharma Acharya Sabha, Sri Sri Ravishankar, founder of the Art of Living, Baba Ramdev, yoga guru, Jathedar Joginder Singh Vedanti
This fair is to highlight the contribution of Hindus spiritual organisations to the society. "For instance, the Ramakrishna Mission runs 1,700 schools in India, which is a commendable work. The Dharma Rakshana Samiti is serving in villages. This fair will help showcase such work to the country," Swami Mitrananda said.
Those who are the path of bhakti can choose to learn from Swaminarayan or Mata Amritanandamayi. For seekers of knowledge from the scriptures, there are options like the Ramakrishna Mission or Chinmaya Mission," he said.
Spiritual knowledge helps people transcend all negativity and move toward divinity. These institutions serve the purpose of nipping negativity even before it can take root in society.
Without spiritual knowledge, the country will only have more orphans, more destitutes, drug addicts, corruption, crime and divided families," he said.
Books published by the participating members will also be sold at the fair.
It will be inaugurated on Friday at 2.55 pm at the Jaigopal Garodia Vivekananda Vidyalaya, U6, (Old U-44), VII Street, Anna Nagar, Chennai.
Top religious leaders like Swami Dayananda Saraswathi of Hindu Acharya Sabha and noted thinker S Gurumurthy among others are scheduled to address the gathering during the inaugural function,he said.
The main aim was to spread awareness on the social commitments undertaken by Hindu organizations in the fields of education, health and social development,
