Finally the Woman that is suppose to kill the demon Mahishasur, appears out from the jyoti of the tridevis. She is Durga, having eighteen hands, extreme beauty and power. Lord Shiv gives her his trident, Lord Vishnu gives her his Sudarshan Chakra, Lord Brahma gives her bow and arrows, etc for the battle that she does against Mahishasur. Durga cuts off his head but Mahishasur was still alive in his head while his body was dead . Seeing this, Durga gets extremely angry and turns into devi MahaKali. Durga in the form of Mahakali does her tandav dance to drain out the remaining life left in the head of Mahishasur. Mahakali gets so much engrosed in her dance that her dance turns out to be a threat for the World. Lord Shiv sleeps before her and when she puts her leg accidently on her husband Shiv, She takes her tongue out in regret and finally stops her dance and Mahishasur gets slayed completely
