Discriminations against foreigners at the temples

Hindu temples are places of worship for hindus. Many temples have the signs - only hindus permitted to enter. Some temples have dress restrictions too. OK so far.

If the security or the temple authorities stop one from entering, it is advisable to contact the temple office, and seek help. No problem if credentials can be shown.

Hinduism is different and temples are different.

Exactly!!

"Hinduism is different and temples are different."

I do Not agree.

Me and my wife were in CHENNAI --November 24 to January 18--We went to Varadharaja Perumal Temple,Kanchipuram--A group of Eaet Europeians wanted to enter the Temple from where the Tickets are issued. They were refused Entry. They asked us to plead with the Temple Authorities, who said they have Orders not to allow Non-Hindu Europeans--We felt very bad.

We remembered another Incident. We were in Washington D.C .and went to one of the Largest Roman Catholic Cathedral in USA.--A Caucasian Preist with Red Ribbon told my wife "I know you are Indian Hindu from your Sari and Red dot on your fore-head--I was in South India for someyears." He took us all around the Huge Church --right upto the Altar--Only in a small enclosure ,wher some people were Praying ("Service" was on) we did NOT go.Many people explained the significance of ICONS etc.

There was a news Item in Zee News-June 25,2007 (The Hindu also) that Rameswaram M.L.A Mr.Hasan Ali entered the Rameswaram Temple to inspect personally the cracks in East Tower and a :Purification Ceremony" was performed.

Sometime in 1987 Farook Marikar (CM-Pondichery) entered in Rameswaram Temple for which he apologised in Supreme Court.

It is absolutely rediculous telling that Non-Hindus should NOT enter Hindu Temples.

In Europe and America Hindus command a Lot of respect from locals who say "Hindus are very Peaceful"----(???????!!!!!!!!!!!!)
