On a hot summer day afternoon
Bound to my village I rested under a banyan tree
A hefty figure was sitting on the other side
Going near I found him Lord Ganesa
Offering my respects I queried his being there
In a hush he said after taking a promise
Of not divulging his whereabouts to any one
Boys and girls appearing for exams
Coming round my temple offering coconuts
Asking me to get them first ranks
Without even studying a little bit
Unable to bear I ran away from there
Let them not know that I am here!
