Different Religious Beliefs.

Different Religious Beliefs.

Pantheism:
A view that the universe and all its elements are identical with one, all-encompassing god and denies the presence of personal, anthropomorphic god (god with human-like attributes). Pantheists identify the divine with the elements of nature. They say that god is verily the same as nature.

Panentheism:
Panentheists believe that god is a phenomenon that penetrates into everything in the Universe and extends beyond it. Panentheists do not limit god into identifying him (her) with just the nature as Pantheists do. Panentheists maintains a distinction between the divine and non-divine and the significance of both.

.
Polytheism:
Belief in numerous gods as in Hinduism.

Monotheism: Belief in only 1 god as in Islam and Christianity.

Athiesm: Lack of belief in god.

Animism:
Believing that all living things in the material universe have a soul which exists apart from the material bodies, and held responsible for being the principle of life and health. Animists believe in spiritual beings or agencies.

Hedonism:
The pursuit of pleasure, sensual gratification as being the highest and proper aim of human life.

Deism: Belief in god.

Gnosticism:
It was widely prevalent in the 2nd Century AD. Basically a collection of religions. The originators were thought to have renounced the world.
Dictates that gnosism or oneness with god (aka Salvation) is possible through charity to the point of poverty and giving up all personal desires for existence.
The matter and the world were taught to have been created by a larger divinity called the 'demiurge' and thus they were considered inferior. World is seen by gnostics thus as consistent of lower level matter, flesh and time while god's true realm is considered to be the upper world and superior.

Agnosticism:
Agnosticism is the view that, the truth values of certain claims – especially metaphysical and religious claims such as whether God, the divine or the supernatural exist – are unknown and perhaps unknowable.

Universalism:
Belief in all religions and claiming that all are means to reach one valid path.
