Dates for Shankara and Ramanuja Jayanthi

Dear forum members,

It seems that Shankara and Ramanuja Jayanthi might fall on two separate days as one post on this forum mentions two different dates. Could you please tell me how these days are decided? I have seen sources which mark both Jayanthi on same day also.

Ramanuja jayanti is Chittirai Thiruvadirai. When a star spans two different days there is a difference between how SVs reckon the day in which the star is counted and the way Smarthas do. If this results in two different days, typically the SV reckoning will be on the later day and the smartha one the first one.
