Clarification on Brahma Yagnam by Brahmachari with Parents alive

Need to get a clarity on whether brahamchari with parents alive can perform pithru tharpanam as part of Bramha yagnam or only should do sankalpam say 'Deva Rishi tharpanam karishye' and perform only Deva and Rishi tharpanam.

Can anyone clarify Please as per Dharma sastram what is the right approach?

Thanks!

Dear Sir,
Tharpanam is performed only after demise of Father and it starts only from Varushabtheegam. When you perform Bramha Yaganm after Tharpanam you can leave out " Oorjam Vahanthi .........." as it is included in Tharpanam itself.
Bramha Yagnam starts from Upanayanam itself. (Unfortunately no Vadhyar advise anything). Perform after Sandhyavandhanam, if you can do. Correctly saying you can eat anything only after this. Or you can do after Madyahneegam.

Thanks for your reply sir. Sir , the clarification that I had asked is on whether Pithru tharpanam coming within Brahma yagnam can be performed by my son who’s upanayanam performed recently and I want him to do Brahma yagnam . Hence the clarity required ..

Yes. in my view too, brahmayagyam which forms part of sandhya vandhanam, should omit the pithru tharpanam part for those who have parents alive. The vadhyar who teaches this during upanayanam and also during Avani Avittam every year they announce specifically to those having parents alive. It may be due to our misunderstanding we do get these type of doubts. Anyway, asking and getting explanations/clarifications is always good as otherwise it would be catastrophic.

Brahma yagnam is apart of the daily samskaras a brahmin has to do and should be done after sandyavandanam and Gayathri. It is remembering and thanking all the devas, rishis and Gods. It is not to be equated with Tharpanam merely because of the words "Tharpayaami"which you do when your father is no more. The pithrus would be all the Pithurs of your lineage and sarva pithrus. You can omit the tharpanam part and do the Brahma Yagnam daily irrepective of whether your father ia alive or not..
