Cash stashed for years smells like 'rotten leather', banker shares online

November 16, 2016 22:39

The shock announcement of the government's currency ban has meant hours of queues at banks and ATMs for the common man.

But how has life been for those who sit on the other side of the doors?

A post in Humans of Bombay's Facebook page offers a glimpse of heightened tension, long work hours and missed lunches for bank employees - and days that are literally 'breathless'.

"We're receiving black money that had been stashed away for years possibly and all this cash smells like rotten leather to the point where every one of our branches has ordered masks for the cashiers - that's how unbearable the stench became!" reads the post, written by a manager at one of the city's banks.

Yesterday, IOB said 'no money' but SBI gave 50% of what the govt. has allowed a person to withdraw, per week!

All the employees were wearing surgical masks! How else will they escape from the bad odour of the OHD notes,

which have been hoarded for a long time? ;)

All this scare is creating a mad desire to spend more money with whatever means possible.

Many seniors are cracking up and indulging on sprees as malls are empty and welcoming.

cinema theatres are empty and one can pick and choose which film to see .

Drama theatres are giving tickets on credit.

Cheaper transport on e rickshaws for travelling upto 3 km appear attractive to well dressed seniors.

Creches are empty as working mothers are home mostly enjoying the new scenario.

The gross national happiness -has it increased with demonetisation?

Hold on, Krish Sir! :)
Now the distribution is rationed in many banks here and many ATMs are closed. :lock1:

So, everyone is awaiting the arrival of new currency. Please watch India after six months! :spy:

"Come mothers and fathers, throughout the land, and don't criticise, what you can't understand. Your sons and your daughters, are beyond your command. Your old road is rapidly agin'. Please get out of the new one if you can't lend your hand, for the times they are a-changin'" Modi said, quoting Dylan's famous lines from the song released in 1964.

"Elders must learn from these words of wisdom," he said.

"We better get out of the way as indeed the times they are a changing," added the Prime Minister.
