The members of Brahmin community burst crackers and distributed sweets thanking the Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao for allocating Rs. 100 crore for the welfare of Brahmins in the State. Scores of Brahmins gathered at the Hanamkonda chowrastha and celebrated the news distributing sweets to passersby.
Telangana Brahmana Samakhya, Brahamana Seva Samakhya and others led by Valluri Pavan Kumar, Vennempalli Jaganmohan Sharma, Ainavolu Satyamohan, G V Srinivasa Chary, Gangu Upendra Sharma, Pendyala Sandeep Sharma, Gangu Manikanta Sharma and others thanked the State government and Chief Minister.
Mr. Pavan Kumar said the move would help greatly the poor Brahmin students aspiring for studies abroad. A simple loan would enable them secure admission into foreign universities and after getting employment they would repay the loan amount. It would also help enterprising Brahmins set up their own enterprises and provide employment to others in the society.
Mr Jaganmohana Sharma said the State government should also consider giving salary to thousands of priests working in various temples cross the state. Mr. Satyamohan said for the first time in the country, Chief Minister cared for the Brahmin community seeing their plight.
