Bengaluru, April 16: Beware Bangaloreans, you might be counting fake currency notes everyday. You might be aware of counterfeit notes of Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 denomination. But fraudsters have now come up with fake Rs 10, 20 and 50 notes. Such fake currency notes are being circulated across the city. People are being duped of such counterfeit notes of these denominations while travelling in autos, buses.

Earlier people used to take time while exchanging Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 notes as they were aware of the racket which spreads fake currency notes. Now, citizens have been struggling as they are encountered with Rs 10, 20, 50 notes everyday.

Arun Kumar Modak, a retired person who lives in JP Nagar, said, "I was very happy when four fresh currency notes of Rs 10 greeted me on a Sunday morning. However, it took only a few seconds to realise that all notes were fake." The 65-year-old had received those four fake notes from a newspaper vendor. Mr Modak was shocked to find out that the vendor was very much aware of the fact he had given counterfeit notes and took back the notes without uttering a single word.

While it is difficult to differentiate between the real and fake notes of Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 denominations, identifying real currency notes of Rs 10, 20 and 50 is not difficult. It's very easy to differentiate as they are very thin and transparent. OneIndia News
