Namaskaram.

After doing in Balalayam in Jalam (Kumbam) since the work is getting delayed can we transfer
it to chitram? If so what is the methodology.

Normally nobody will Transfer the Jalam in Kumbam after Balalayam. There is no need also to Transfer.

A temple may take at least a minimum of 18 months to 2 years to complete in case of Stone Temple and at least 1 year in case of Temples constructed with Cement and brick.

In the meanwhile Poojas will be offered to The Jalam in Kumba. It must be preserved till the Finishing of Temple.

No botheration even the water evaporates.

During Kumbabishekam period, Balayalam is done in a Hindu Temple. To be precise, the divine
power of the main Deity along with other Deities of the Temple are transferred to a Kalasha.
The Kalasha is placed atop the Balalayam. It means a mini Aalayam. This is specifically done

during the renovation period of a temple. Since the divine presence of the Main Deities are
transferred to the holy waters contained in the Kalasha, puja is done to the Kalashas and
Ustava Vigrahams of the Temple. During this period, no puja will be performed to the Moola
Vigrahams. The divine presence of the temple deity will continue to be in the Kalashas
only until it is transferred back to the Moola vigrahas, on the day of Kumbabishekam.

Generally before balalayam ceremonies the sannidhyam of the idols are transferred to pictures specially drawn for the purpose or in a mirror. Transferring of the power of the idol to a kumbam is done on the eve of the samprokshanam. The kumbams will be installed in the yagasala for one to three days and on the day of the maha samprokshanam the idols after they are well placed with ashta bandhanam, will be annointed with holy water of the respective kumbams. This is the general practice.
For Balalayam Athi (ficus glomerata) wood was used to transfer the sannidhyam from the primary idol. A case in point is Kanchi Athi Varadhar idol which is submerged in the temple tank and comes up once in 40 years which occasion draws lot of crowds and celebrated with fanfare. After the installation of the idol in the sanctum, the balalayam athi idol might have been placed into the tank.
