Asian Para Games 2023 Live Updates: Prachi Yadav became the first Indian to win a para canoe gold in the Asian Para Games as she led the country's medal rush for the second consecutive day here on Tuesday.

India won 17 medals on Tuesday, including three gold, taking the total tally to 34 in the first two days of competition. India had won 17 medals, including six gold, on Monday.

India ended Day 2 placed fifth in the standings, one spot down from Monday, with nine gold, 12 silver and 13 bronze, behind China (165: 66 gold, 53 silver, 46 bronze), Iran (47), Japan (45) and Uzbekistan (38).

India’s tally rises to record 82 medals​

India added 18 medals, including three gold, on Thursday. With these, the tally stands at 18 gold, 23 silver and 41 bronze at the end of the fourth day.

HANGZHOU: Indian para athletes on Thursday created history by winning the highest number of medals in the Asian Para Games, taking the country’s tally to 82, including 18 gold. The earlier best was 72 medals in the 2018 edition in Indonesia.

With two more days left, the country is on course of achieving its target of 100 medals in this edition.

India added 18 medals, including three gold, on Thursday. With these, the tally stands at 18 gold, 23 silver and 41 bronze at the end of the fourth day.

India’s position in the medals tally, however, dropped two places to eight, as not too many gold medals were won on Thursday. South Korea and Indonesia moved ahead in the medals tally led by China (156 gold, 128 silver, 108 bronze).

Eight medals, including one gold, were won by track and field athletes on Thursday. Overall, athletics contributed 45 medals out of India’s total of 82, and 14 gold out of the country’s total of 18 so far.

Indian para athletes create history with a record-breaking 111 medals at Hangzhou Asian Para Games

NEW DELHI: On Saturday, Indian para athletes made history by finishing their Hangzhou Asian Para Games campaign with a record 111 medals, the most for the country in any major international multi-sport event.

The Indian para athletes won four more medals than the able-bodied athletes, with 29 gold, 31 silver, and 51 bronze in the Hangzhou Asian Games, which took place from September 23 to October 8.

India finished fifth in the medal count, trailing China (521 medals: 214 gold, 167 silver, 140 bronze), Iran (44 gold, 46 silver, 41 bronze), Japan (42, 49, 59), and Korea (30, 33, 40).
The first Para Asian Games were held in Guangzhou, China, in 2010, with India finishing 15th with 14 medals, including one gold.
