[h=1]Apple patent shows TouchID on Apple TV remote[/h] July 23, 2015 Kishore Ganesh Leave a comment Edit
The Apple TV is the dark horse in Apple’s lineup. It isn’t massively popular, yet Apple hasn’t axed it. It remains an excellent choice as a media-streamer, but the current one is already outdated and a refresh of the product line is really needed.
Time and again news about the next Apple TV has popped up, with earlier ones being that it would be a smart home hub, i.e the device through which you can communicate with other smart devices.
Now Apple has applied for a new patent of a remote with a TouchID biometric sensor. This can be used for mundane tasks like unlocking devices to more advanced ones like personal recommendations.
The new remote may also allow control of smart devices. As always, we don’t know whether this is a real product or not, and have to wait till Apple’s official event to confirm the news.
What do you think? Will this convince you to buy the Apple TV?
