Your party supremo said that Hindus are thieves...Now you are visiting Hindu temples and doing yagas and pujas...Is it just a pre election stunt...But steadfast Hindus may not believe you by this somersault! From virulently anti Hindu position how can you make such a blunder unless your machiavellian father thinks that this is the only way for salvation!!

A Correspondent: "90 per cent of Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam cadre are Hindus" -- This statement by M K Stalin has created tremors in the party.

Stalin's statement is being interpreted in the context of his visit to a Vaishavite temple where he received honours like Angawastharam and crowning his head with silk clothes etc.


He ate Tulsi and drank the holy water, which is the residual after bathing the Vaishavite God.


Rival All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam leaders describe such new turns as a political stunt ahead of the 2016 polls in Tamil Nadu.


Interestingly, the state Bharatiya Janata Party unit has welcomed Stalin's remarks.


Stalin also admits in his Facebook comment that M Karunanidhi has begun writing the autobiography of Ramanujar, which is now being telecast as a soap opera in Kalaignar TV.

Not Tamilians or Dravidians as previously they used to claim .

But BJP is a political party and so for them to grow in TN they need the support of either the AIADMK or DMK and hence may tilt towards DMK in case AIADMK ditches them and all this new language of Stalin is laying foundation for a BJP to be part of the Anti AIADMK front .
 
I remember, during the first tenure of DMK, Nedunchezhian was the minister in charge of H.R. & C.E. Dept.
He had made an issue then by his act that during his visit to one temple he received the prasadams in hand and then just thrown it away.
It is all a welcome change on the part of a DMK leader. Visiting temples,receiving honours like Angawastharam and Getting accepting the honour of parivattam etc.
I heard that his wife Smt. Durga Stalin used to go to temples and worship God.

The Pressure of Politics is making them do all these things in the open . BTW many of them were doing these things secretly either themselves or through some proxies . Now since every guy has a cell phone with a camera these things cant be hidden from the public anymore ( as couple of weeks back some one captured in Video Durga Staling doing some ritual in a Temple and it was relayed in Jaya TV ) they have decided to accept this things in the so called "spirit of equal respect to all Religions " .

A change that could prove very bad for DMK and its future. All along the cadre were fed with a staple diet of "rationalism" with the main goal of eradicating "evil hinduism" etc To make a U turn like this will confuse the partymen and will eventually lead to its downfall.

We are least bothered about the emancipation or downfall of any political party.

Welcome change on the part of a DMK leader is, coming / coming nearer to the religious fold.

Here after, the party members could not criticise Hinduism and Hindu Gods, as they did earlier.

 
This is the ultimate result of power gained by political parties while in power,which they don't want to lose at any cost.

DMK's present attitude is nothing but 'ETHAAI THINNAL PITHAUM THELIUM.' Ramanujar serial is one such example; and the reason given is he was a religious reformer. It is probably the joke of the century.

We may expect more jokes like reformer, 90% Hindus etc. before election.

Forgive me Yesmohan Sir, The criticism of Hinduism and Hindu Gods at times is more strident in this forum than that of these party members. So this sigh of relief appears pretentious to me, that is all!

Perhaps this is a welcome change to the AGATs (agnostic-atheists) of this forum as, henceforth, they will be able to blame hinduism for the corruption of the DMK party also!!

Anybody will change in course of time; nothing is permanent. " TIME" will force anybody to change their views and policies. The views expressed in this forum is not "ultimate and supreme" in the world.

DMK cadres practicing Hinduism in secret can come out of the closet. Stalin's wife durga never hid her temple visits or special pujas.

Self declaration in any mandatory forms, 'Religion" column is to be filled up.
Otherwise the form is deemed to be incomplete.
Karunanidhi & his family members, I believe, Had to fill up this column with "Hindus" only.
The definition that "Hindus are thieves " includes the definer and his family also.

Any thing can happen in politics.
All politicians are shameless.
In case,BJP forge an alliance with DMK, the blind supporters of BJP in Tamil nadu, will wake up or sail with the tide.
If 10 / 15 MP seats are offered by DMK, it is enough to lure the BJP.
Again, ANYTHING CAN HAPPEN IN POLITICS.

The Hindus termed Thieves by them stole their hearts - the explantion for their new love for Hindus!

Leave alone DMK, the mentor of DMK, the so called DK leader, Thanthai Periyar was doing all sorts of Poojas in his room and for the world he was Brahmana Dweshi. Ellam oru Kuttaiyil Uryia Mattaikal.

Is it true? How did you know? Can you please explain?
 
As Stalin has taken over the leadership of the party, though unofficially, he tries to act differently. Despite MK's criticism of Hindu Religion, Hindus are supporting his party, not giving much importance to his loose talk. If DMK is viewed as a anti-Hindu party by Hindus in TN, the party would not have won earlier elections.

As long as MGR was alive, MK was in wilderness. Now the situation has changed.
 
Religious belief is on the "personal side" of the people.
It has not much to do with politics.
In Tamil nadu people have proved this many times by exercising franchise by cutting across the barriers of religious belief.
Even the arrest of Hindu Math Heads and their subsequent acquittal etc.. had also did not have any major impact.
There are many other crucial items which decides and determines the fate in elections.
