13 Years, No Justice: How Kerala’s Legal System Failed Hindu Martyr Vishal Kumar

In many ways, I feel Tamil Nadu Hindus are blessed, because many recent High Court judgments seem to be helping Sanatanis regain their rights as human beings. It makes me happy to see how the judges in the High Court of Tamil Nadu are considering the needs of the Hindu community and supporting their right to follow their religious practices.

At the same time, this happiness is mixed with sadness. I feel disheartened by the injustice I believe is happening to Hindus in Kerala. For example, the Mavelikkara Additional Sessions Court recently acquitted all the accused in the 13-year-old murder case of ABVP activist Vishal, who was reportedly hacked to death. It was a horrific incident.

It’s said that the activist was attacked by Popular Front activists in front of a Christian college. Successive governments — the Oommen Chandy government (UDF) and the Pinarayi Vijayan government (LDF) — took years to move the case forward, with the charge sheet reportedly taking five years to file. During that period, many feel the accused had opportunities to escape due to government negligence. The role of the Christian college where the incident allegedly occurred is still a Mystery. why groups like Campus Front were allowed to operate in Christian Colleges?

Even with all of this, I still feel a sense of hope, especially with places like Thiruvananthapuram and Thrissur now coming under BJP rule.
