There should be strong legislation to put all these Godmen behind bars at the earliest.

They are damaging the lives of the gullible and uneducated.

mainly these gals are not uneducated....they are highly educated....many are college/engineering educated...

In my family there are 2 boys...one IIT educated boy joined Sri Sri & is in US spreading the gospel..He married a Gujju girl..Another is a bachelor, highly educated & is into social service in India ..He too is part of Sri Sri...Another brilliant IIT graduate & CEO quit everything & is doing social service as part of Esha...No body is pressurizing these people..It is their own need & accord! I really appreciate these guys for coming to do social service...We require more of these people...They conduct classes for senior Corporates too
 
'News Minute' reports that they are M.Tech and B.Tech graduates and parents alleges that they are not allowed to meet their daughters.

There seems to be some substance in the allegation of parents not being allowed to meet them.

But the girls seems to report that they are not 'brain washed' as alleged.

And there are lot of questions remain unanswered.

Jaggi Vasudev's Isha Yoga holding girls captive, alleges couple seeking collector's help

They were "brainwashed" and forced to stay there, the parents allege.
Alleging that their two daughters were being held captive by Coimbatore-based Isha Yoga centre and had been made
sanyasins, a couple on Monday sought the help of the District Collector to set them free.

In a petition to the collector, retired professor Kamaraj alleged that his two daughters, aged 33 and 31, who had gone to the centre to learn yoga some time ago, were "brainwashed" and forced to stay there.

The Yoga centre's head had made the two tonsure their heads and wear saffron clothes. He was not allowing them to mingle with outsiders, Kamaraj, who had come to the collectorate with his wife, said.

Even he was not allowed to meet and talk to his daughters, who were M Tech and B Tech degree holders and holding good posts, he said.

Expressing apprehensions about their safety, he requested the collector to immediately intervene and get them released.
Efforts to get a reaction from the Yoga centre were of no avail.

The emergence of godmen is not a new phenomenon. It is in existence since vedic period.
 
Not just abduction charges, Isha Yoga centre also in the dock for environmental violations

There have been allegations over the years by locals, public and environmentalists about constructions on forest land.

Recently, two parents filed a petition at a district collectorate in Tamil Nadu seeking help alleging that their children, two adult women, had been 'abducted' and kept within the premises of the Isha Yoga centre in Coimbatore. Both the women and the spiritual organization have denied it.

But this is not the only controversy which has put the Isha Yoga centre in the dock.

Project GreenHands, an arm of the Isha Foundation, works with a mission of “increasing the green cover of Tamil Nadu by 10 per cent” and the aim of “developing a culture of care towards the environment”. Ironically, the Foundation's mainstay, the Isha Yoga Center near Coimbatore always seems to be in the eye of the storm for environmental violation.

Though popular as a spiritual-yoga-meditation destination for people from India and abroad who revere its founder Jaggi Vasudev as their guru, this high-end address of spiritualism remains an eyesore for environmentalists and informed locals.

It is well known that there have been several allegations over the years by locals, public, environmentalists and even political leaders about buildings being constructed on forest land and encroaching on the elephant corridor. The Center representatives have almost always claimed that the buildings had approval and those that did not have were awaiting the same.

The Center is located at the foot of the Velliangiri Hills in the Western Ghats, some 30 km from Coimbatore. Environmentalists claim that it sits on several thousands of forest land and is also bang in the middle of the elephant corridor and is in violation of norms laid down by Tamil Nadu's Hill Area Conservation Authority (HACA) and Directorate of Town and Country Planning. This, they point out has only added to the injuries and deaths of elephants.

There are many such Companies which are alleged to pollute the environment viz United Bleachers Ltd.,

It was reported that the entire residents of Sikkarampalayam village staged a road block in front of this company on June 1.

Similarly there are reported complaint against Synthite Industries Ltd., situated in Marudur village near Mettupalayam.

It is also heard that complaints were also filed against Virukshalaya Green Fuels in Chettipalayam village near Madukkarai.

And we have TNPCB to take care of those companies who float rules that were framed to protect environment.

While these companies are meant to make profit, public believe, Isha is not a profit-oriented Institution.


 
Chennai: Giving a clean chit to Isha Yoga Foundation, which was alleged to have kept two women devotees there against their consent, the Madras high court has said there was no material on record even to remotely infer that the siblings were illegally detained there.

Dismissing a habeas corpus petition filed by the women's mother K Sathiajothi on Friday, a division bench of Justice S Nagamuthu and Justice V Bharathidasan said: "Prima facie we are satisfied that the detenues are staying in the Isha Foundation on their volition."
