in kolkatta, ambassador cars as taxis are very cheap for travel . almost like autos in other cities.
the factory of ambassador is near calcutta.
ambassador taxis run on meter and there is no overcharging like other metros.
the public is very vigilant.
marxist rule kept everything in control and in reach of common folks
even housing rentals and purchase are very cheap.
it is still a low cost economy there . it is a good place post retirement

Can you name a single party which has no link with any scam?

There is no difference between Amabassador and Standard (Motor)cars...We had a Standard car in Chennai way back in the 60's used as a taxi...Rugged vehicle...Both were having outdated technology...We had to finally sell off in the 70's in a loss..We bought the car for Rs 8000 which was the price of 1 ground of land in Nungambakkam Lake area...Had we invested in land there , by now we would have been 5 crore adhipathi...You cannot have a brand just based on old association and loyalty..We need to meet the expectations of the modern youth ..Should be ahead of times and not behind times.
I saw many ambassador taxis with vetti ver thatti fastened to the roof in Tiruchy and Madurai.
