In he same way, in those days, in Nagore Darga, on Thursdays more than 40% of the visitors / worshippers were Hindus.
This, I have had seen in 1970s when I was working in Nagapainam and used to go to Nagore to canvass deposit.

Most of the Hindus and Muslims used to live in peaceful atmospheres.

It appears that only the political parties on both sides started to indulge in religious fanatic activities for their

survival.

You are making a political statement. But the reality is wherever Muslims are in majority - Mallapuram, Melvisharam and of course Kashmir, they try to dominate, which is not so in the case of Hindus. Compared to Muslims, Hindus, I think, are more liberal and accommodate them well.

Yes, I agree with Mr CHANDRU1849. Wherever the Muslims are in majority, some disgruntled elements in their community disturb the tranquility. Such things are happening in Thanjavur and Nagapattinam districts (Therezhundur, Nidur, Kodikkalpalayam, Papanasam, Pandaravadai, Rajagiri etc.) where, traditional procession by the Hindu temple deities are to be carried out only with prior police permission and police protection. We are to be blamed for this situation (as most of the owners of house properties, while migrating to larger towns / cities, sold the houses to Muslims for an attractive price; In Therezundur, birth place of poet Kambar, the sannadhi street has only two hindus - one the temple archakar and the other is Nadaswara vidwan).

However, it is heartening that persons whose native places are such villages, the annual temple festivals are celebrated by generous contribution and personal visit by the erstwhile natives !

What all I write are from my personal experience as a public servant. I am not wearing any political / caste..... "motley" on my brain.
As a public servant (Bank Manager), I used visit Muslim areas also for deposit mobilisation.
The area people (Muslims) knew that I am a brahmin ( writen on my face). They all treated me with utmost respect.
All individuals as long as they remain individuals............... are very good by nature.
The maxim of individual relationship is that .....those who all give respect will all also be respected.

You are dragging your official visits and trying to substantiate your views. Have you worked as Bank Manager in Kashmir and visited clients for the purpose you mentioned? The discussion was about majoritarian approach between Hindus and Muslims. I served in a Public Sector. I noticed that if two or three Muslims join together, they used to make fun of Hindus or even Christians. They have a natural tendency of aggressiveness.

hi

in past decades....in tamil nadu/kerala....generally very close relations with muslims/hindus...just now ..every thing gone bad...

even dr abdul kalam used to stay with brahmins....even i used study with muslim boys/gals in a agraharam ......

not much clashes...even many participated in a brahmin festivals of local temples...but now present genrations are very

different...

The status of conflict that prevails in KASHMIR, is Pakistan sponsored vs India.
Even though it appears to be religious one, the root cause is politics between Pakistan and India.
The problem of different one, could not be quoted as examples.
If one who does not have experience of any kind express some views, the other one who has some experience in public relations could very well express the other views.

Yes; true. Even now the individual persons on boh sides exchange pleasantries.
Now, only politicians on both sides are the root cause of the troubles.
These politicians play electoral politics.

First of all, you have brought your professional experience into Hindu-Muslim relationship. A Bank Manager, who is a Govt. Official, cannot be treated badly. If another Bank Manager with Muslim background visits the places you visited, the reception would have been different, more cordial, friendly and even with Biriyani.

Regarding Kashmir, if it is Pakistan sponsored, why do the people of Kashmir welcome it? When Pandits were driven out, what were they doing?

Don't combine professional experience with community experience: which is always different.

If we are not a religious / community fanatic
and have a move of straight forwardness in our approach, we could command a good respect from all the communities, everywhere.

Kashmir problems have its root since pre-independent days..

Now, Modi & co extends support to Muslims in Kashmir and they also reciprocate. It again proves that if we extend our helping hands with a straight forward approach, others would also reciprocate.

It is found that below average personalities within any religion, could not afford to maintain the minimum decorum of showing respect for other's faith.

Even within a community, we often find that some of the average personalities would sometimes struggle to exhibit minimum decorum of respect towards the fellow sects with different beliefs.

It is the fervent hope that anything will change with the expansion of the horizon of knowledge and with efflux of time.

It shows during your officialdom you have not moved with Muslim colleagues.

Contrary to belief, Muslims are clever and can adopt to situations. In business, you can see they even use B slang, whenever Bs visit the shop.

In organization, they used to move more with Hindus than Christians.

One of my bosses, who was a Muslim, was a perfect example. Whenever I reported, he was cordial. When I moved out to another dept. he could not show even the basic courtesy. He had risen to the level of DGM solely with the help of Bs, though he worked in all difficult areas, he lacked individuality and badly dependent on others, especially Bs. He thought he could become GM by maintaining artificial softness. In the GM interview, he was outsmarted by a Protestant (Nadar),who actually had not worked in difficult areas. The elevation was contested seriously by a non-believer from Gounder community. Unable to withstand his pressure, the CEO, a B, created a new Group and made him a GM.

The artificially made soft Muslim accepted it and left on VRS after becoming JGM and finally left the earth some years back, due to blood cancer.

Hindus, who have no logical thinking, analytical approach and interest in the religion, may not be of any use to the religion. I hope you are not in that category.

I worked with a lot of Muslim friends; still they are in touch with me.

Usually, fittest could survive in promotions.
Losers, who lack SWOT analysis, could attribute caste as a reason for their failure.
