Reservation will cause depletion of Hindu culture

    0 Not allowed!
The rich heritage and culture of India is being maintained by Brahmins from early days. There should not be a reservation on caste basis. Our politics is divided on caste basis and roots are very strong. Belive me, it is more then party politics. I have seen caste based politics playing strong then party politics. Any initiative to reduce caste based politics will help in such situations. It will divide the country. No doubt something is needed to be done in terms of affirmative action urgently. In this respect there are no short cuts. Provide and improve primary and secondary education and give equal opportunity at the entry level to the economically disadvantaged. Intelligence is normally distributed in the population and being poor does not mean one is not intelligent. However, it has to be nurtured during the early period in schools. If we cannot improve the primary/secondary education quality and access for economically disadvantaged no amount of tinkering with higher education will be even a palliative. Country and economy must run on merit if India has to find a bigger role in the comity of nations.
When India got its independence and the differentiation between the backward and forward was very evident, the corrective action thought of was to introduce caste based reservation in the educational institutes and employments, for a limited period. This needed review for its effectiveness and accordingly acted upon. Our great politicians never bothered about the effectiveness of this action and they kept on extending and expanding the reservation system.

    Some views on it

Assume one guy is from a caste which is supported by our Govt. I am writing an exam and getting 80% and another guy from a caste which Govt is discriminating against getting 90%...Question is more meritorious....The Govt's point is "Since some castes were discriminated for so many years and some are being discriminated in rural side we have to favor the first". Well the first question is " Is the present situation affect the education ? or how grand fathers,gr8 grand fathers , their gr8 grandfathers were treated in 19th or 13 th century affects the opportunities of the first guy? Any one with the neutral mindset will say the present .......Or from the time when he started his education....But what our Govt policy is based on?? Its totally based on past, irrelevant, political policy (Better to term it conspiracy to hide their mistakes ,make us scape goats and snatch votes by the divide and rule policy).

Well ......Can existence of discrimination today be a reason for reservation?? No..(Ofcourse the discrimination should be eradicated. Its better for everyone not to insult/hurt others) If you say the answer should be yes, whatever argument you say for educational/professional level reservation will hold good for sports also, cinema too. I really wonder our politicians havent come with a law still.

In a democracy they say since all MPs are accepting it , the nation accepts it....How false it is!!!They know there are only puppets in parliaments and no real representatives of people , atleast when it comes to reservation issue. Its a question of discrimination and dictatorship...They have the support of MPs...If they introduce 95% reservation in all the sectors what can we do??

    The only solution is legal

    0 Not allowed!
    Dear sir,
The only solution is legal. Today CJI Hon. Mr. Balakrishnan has said that judiciary is there to guide the legislatives through implementing law and constitution is more encouraging.
The only thing we have to do is to fight through legally. I dont see any short cuts.
People say that how come 2 judges bench overruled 9 judges bench.
However the 9 judges bench is only for reservation for jobs and it is only for 10 years (Judgement says that reservation is only for 10 years and not afterwards unless reviewd) and now more than 10 years have elapsed, the situation is changed.
Everybody has to accept the reality and should not look for the political gain.
    Thanks

    REaservation

    0 Not allowed!
    Dear Sirs,
I agree with all of you that the resrvation is discriminatory and it can be fought with legal means only. The Brahmins and the forward caste in Tamilnadu do not have the vote power to influence or the muscle power to fight in the street. As I have mentioned in earlier posts, we the brahmins mostly de[end upon jobs. Self employment and business is not in our scheme of things. We do not encourage our children to be self-employed. Now there is IT boom. So many of our sons and daughters are able to get employment. But this boom will not last long. So it is high we start changing our mind-set and encourage our sons and daughters to become self employed. All brahmin children will not be able to get admission in engineering colleges. Doind a BA or B Sc is of no use. In Tamilnadu an average BA or BsC graduate remains unemployed for 3 years minimum. This is as per the study of CII. So the option like Polytechnics, ITI, NTTF should be examined. Other areas like catering, Tailoring, auto workshops and any work where one can be gainfully employed should be encouraged. Unless this is done, we will be only discussing. I am a member since June 06. I request all to take some concrete action in tghis regard.
    Subramanian
