I was brought up in North India and I did not have opprotunity to learn Tamil. I do speak and understand elementary form of brahminical tamil but can't read or write and would therefore be termed as tamil illiterate.

Is there any way of learning tamil (reading & writing) in rapid fire fashion? I may not be able to attend any formal classes due to my official engagements. Will anyone please recommend self study material ? Any Tamil primer or Rapidex ??
