The outcry of the public,Anna Hazare's civil society, debate in the media, nothing can move the central government in this country to initiate a sincere whole hearted action to reveal the names of the thugs who have stashed their ill gotten wealth in foreign countries and get back the booty probably because some of the netas and babus in the government are themselves a part of the gang.Observing the reluctance of the government to take a quick meaningful action in this regard, the supreme court has formed a special investigating team headed by a retired supreme court judge to look into the issue and expose the culprits. The central government has lost its credibility and respect in the eyes of the public.

    ss,

notwithstanding the desire of all of us for an honest government, maybe it is time that we take a step back and give some thought to what the supreme court is doing?

first, who appoints these justices? are these not the government in power? is there not lobbying for these jobs? in reality, are these justices going to bite the hand that feeds them?

the above could be answered easily.

now comes the difficult part. are we not seeing the judiciary apparently 'hijacking' the powers of a 'legally elected by the people' governed body and trying to behave as its overseer. it is my belief, that our constitution is among the best thought document among all such documents.

there is distinct powers for the judiciary, but it is only to the extent of interpreting the laws of the country as legislated by the parliament. the active role the judiciary is playing, in initiating what it considers as necessary to weed out the corrupt elements of the society, is only bound to backfire, i think.

for in the long term, the elected folks are going to retaliate. at this point, their cards may be down, but these are capable of coming back and coming back with a vengeance. this has been proved by the musical chairs of governance in both chennai and new delhi. maybe the judges are setting another bad precedence here by taking on the role of ombudsman over the parliament

our parliament and our elected officials may be utterly corrupt. but it remains, that these are elected by the people, who, every 5 years have a chance to replace them. and have been doing so with astounding regularity.

i am all for weeding out corruption, but whether it be anna hazare or supreme court committees, i would treat these with a dose of skeptic caution - not for their intentions, but the unintended consequences which could eventually result in chaos and similar unanticipated side effects .

    Dear sirs:

Imagine the economic fall-out of all the black money coming into circulation !

If it is in foreign currency, the value of INR will go up and it will have impact on
    exports and imports.

If it is all in Indian currency, the money in circulation will be high, pushing up the
prices, and the Govt. will have to call back the money to shrink the money in
circulation or curtail bank lending or something like that.

    Dear Mr.Ranganathan,
Whatever be the impact the repatriated black money may have on the economy, the government should expose all the anti social elements involved in this racket , confiscate their booty and awarded severest punishment so that it has a bearing on others contemplating committing such a crime in future.India as a developing nation can not allow billions of rupees stashed in foreign lands illegally when majority of people can not afford to have two square meals a day.

    Dear Mr.sadasivam.Sridharan,

There can be no two opinions about it. The parallel economy must come
to an end. Politicians, bureaucrats and businessmen have looted the
country. They must be put behind the bars till their death.

    Mr. Ranganathan/Sadashivam,

I agree to your points, but sadely there is no-one to even dare to touch the issue of black money.

Poor Baba Ramdev got beaten up for raising the issue. Mr Anna Hazare has been taken for a ride for the Lokpal bill.

The indian politics is actually politics where no-one wants to take action as well as initiative.
