    Welcome to TamilBrahmins.com

Our aim is simple… we want to provide a stage for Tamil Brahmins scattered across the globe to interact, network and interface with one another.

Through this website we aim to bring the Tamil Brahmin Community together and build on the success of various Individuals and channelise them towards a stronger, modern and forever evolving community.

We are not affiliated with any organisation at this time which enables us to develop without external influences.

    Enjoy…

    Hi,
I just registered here. I have been looking for such a forum for sometime. Every group/caste/language/religion has a forum of some sort except the Brahmins of Tamilnad. Thanks for this initiative and wish you all success with the forum.

    Hi friends,

I am a Telugu who has had excellent friends among Tamil Brahmin community from childhood ("cheddi friends"). I respect them for their traditionalism and intellect, and deeply empathise with them. Ironically, Telugus seem to think that in Tamilnadu things are very good for Brahmins. It does not appear so from the discussion of the threads on this forum.

2000 years of continued attacks on Hinduism, more specifically on Brahminism, by Huns, Mongols, Slave kings, Muslim conquerers (who grave graphic accounts in their "Shahnamahs" on how they killed Brahmins enmasse in temples), Christian Inquisitioneers (the Goan Inquisition during the Portuguese Rule against Saraswat Brahmins, started by "Saint" Francis Xavier, was the cruelest and longest lasting Catholic Inquisition in the world, involving burnings at stake, torture & rapes going by the Government of Portugal's records, for which Vatican is yet to formally apologise even as they talk of "harvest of faith" in India.) etc., could not conclusively put this community down. If would be very sad if this happens now because of Brahmins giving up their pursuit of education and higher thinking.

I feel that against all odds, Tambrams should keep trying, and keep pushing. If not this State, some other State, and if not this country, some other country are likely to give shelter to them as long as Tamil Brahmins stick to their Brahminism. The moment they abandon their value system, that's the end. Haven't Brahmin decendents like Sir V.S.Naipaul won accolades in far of places such as West Indies?

After all, we are like jews. Progress made by Brahmins makes others hate us, and this will happen in future also. So let us find newer pastures and newer fields where we can venture into, and become successful even as we retain our traditions.

It has been wonderful to discover this forum, and I will eagerly look forward to the discussions.

    Hi,
I just registered here. I do not want to talk about the atrocities that were committed against us ( by us here, I also include the general community that follow sanatana dharma! ) but about the current trend of diluting our community which I feel is the greatest threat to sanatana dharma. God willing, like hope has been expressed here earlier, we shall overcome this onslaught on our culture too.

    Am ready for the war!

    kaushik.

Hey, this website seems a very good idea to connect to special people around the world.
Special as we are, in terms of culutre, intelligence, mind power as also good looks.
This attempt to give a form to thoughts is something I wholly appreciate. Kudos to the facilitator

Yes Ms. Priya, We are special, but we also have drawbacks. Compared to others, brahmins are weak by heart. They fall easy pray to desires. More of Brahmins see porno sites! Once intelligence manifests, desires also manifest. May be intelligent people have more desires! These desires weaken the person enormously. To be rid of negative habits like looking at opposite sex, smoking, drinking, gossipping and jealously will mean 90% in progress! So you advise your students, particularly Brahmins, to be rid of negative habits. Then getting any skill is cakewalk.

    Dear gss_vasan:

What are you talking about, man? There is absolutely nothing wrong with desires to have things; we are mortals and we all have to go thru life in stages.
Since when looking at the opposite sex is a negative habit? - unless you are a hemit or a monk??

And.... welcome aboard, gss_vasan! we are happy you have joined us!
