This is the story of Edmund Thomas Clint, who was born in Kochi, Kerala in the year 1976. Clint was the lone son of M.T. Joseph and Chinnamma Joseph, and was named after the famous actor and director Clint Eastwood. He loved painting the festivals and traditional events he witnessed near his home. When he died of kidney failure in 1983, he was just six years and 11 months old, yet left behind more than 30,000 artworks.

The paintings he made were phenomenal, and would take years of training and guidance for professional painters to draw. His work has been displayed in exhibitions in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala in 1995 and 2007. At the age of 5, he secured first place in a competition held for painters below the age of 18. Such was his legacy, that the Clint Road in Kochi is named after him. The 2007 Malayalam film Anandabhairavi, about a child prodigy was also inspired by his life.
We’ll let his paintings speak for themselves –

Makes us wonder, what miracles of art Clint would have created, had he lived longer.
