Bakthas in utter disarray - Govt finally admits demonetisation badly hit farmers !!!

https://www.businesstoday.in/curren...etisation-badly-hit-farmers/story/293210.html

[h=2]The agriculture ministry admitted that farmers had been drastically affected by Prime Minister Narendra Modi's surprise demonetisation decision in November 2016.[/h]
n a meeting of the Standing Committee of the Ministry of Finance yesterday, the Union Agriculture Ministry finally admitted that farmers had been drastically affected by Prime Minister Narendra Modi's surprise demonetisation decision in November 2016.

Significantly, millions of farmers were unable to purchase seeds and fertilisers ahead of the Rabi season due to this. The smaller farmers in particular, who rely on cash to make purchases, were left stranded as virtually all the cash they had in hand was suddenly illegal tender

Demonetisation also affected big farmers - they had to pay wages to the labourers working on their fields but they, too, found themselves cash-strapped.

Gosh, now what do our bakthas do ???, their entire identity and (fake) narrative is falling apart. Their own hero govt is openly accepting the demo disaster. Next is the get disaster.

what will happen if Modi himself accepts responsibility for the policy disaster and resign ?? For all his faults, he loves the country and he may himself decide to step down.

LOL.

Pipe dream. LOL

No, I do not want Modi to resign.
That will be a bigger disaster.
Yjey should accept that it was a disaster, apologize, and remedy the situation.

Not necessarily !!

1. There is immense pressure on this govt due to crumbling economy - farmers are in dire state, companies are collapsing, banks are in massive debt, NBFCs are collapsing, rupee free fall, etc..

2. Everyone wants the approval of others on their ideas and policies. No other govt in the past has had such criticism of their ideas and policies. Irrespective of who took the decision, it is very demotivating to see the policies fail so badly. Farmers are in unbelievable stress and they are protesting on roads in unprecedented nos.

3. Most unkindes cut is that the govt bureaucrats are up in arms, and in particular acharya comparing india to Venezuela which triggered enormous backlash and criticism from all over the financial institutions worldwide.

4. Fitch downgraded india in another devastating blow. Not to mention, the downgrades on ilfs etc..

5. For a supreme leader who came on development platform, having achieved stellar growth and work in Gujarat, this is simply not acceptable. That too for acharya to penny compare india to Venezuela.

So one can never say with this kind of pressure !!

To be fair he did not expect demo to be such a failure. Though he knew and was briefed on temporary disruptions. Even Manmohan did not expect, he himself said the destruction of demo is only getting clear after 2 yrs.

And for anyone who expected their policies to be successful after months and years of deliberation, it is simply not believable. Hence they did not and could not accept al of us telling it will be a failure or it is a failure. Even when Surat traders protested, they though gst will stabilise and everything will be okay.

But repeated violent protests by farmers all across india is driving home the point that it is a terrible failure. Not to forget the massive row its RBI,
