Vi-zravas is a Rishi. zravas means hearing. vi-zravas means perfect hearing.
When vizravas is associated with iLA (speech, coherent knowledgeable verses) he produces Kuvera (wealth).
When vizravas is associated with keka (cries) he produces different types of music/noise patterns (rAvana, kumbhakarna, vibhishana etc)..
The difference between ilA and keka is this.
ilA is speech. It appeals to our cerebral areas. It interacts with us and produces wealth of knowledge that impacts us. The information it produces becomes knowledge when it interacts and impacts us. Thus ilA gives rise to Kuvera.
Keka is 'Cries'. It appeals to our emotions (like music/noise), emotional parts of our brain. It does not interact with us informatively. It interacts emotively. It wants to subdue us or excite us. It leads to rAvana who excites us with music, vibhishana who makes us surrender, kumbhakarna who makes us sleep etc.
So it is upto us if we use our hearing faculty to create kuvera (wealth of information/knowledge) or ravana/kumbhakarna/vibhishana in our minds.
In all of us, rAma, the enjoyer exists. rAma, the enjoyer, is the consciousness which manifests as conscience in us. rAvana, kumbhakarna and Kuvera also exists in us.
When Kuvera (logical/informational) part is defeated by rAvana/kumbhakarna/vibhishana (emotional) parts, the enjoyer in us, the rAma, rises up to defeat rAvana. But many times rAvana (the emotional part) defeats kuvera (the logical part) and it takes lot of times for rAma in us to rise. In those periods rAvana in us rules us.
So we have three choices
1. Let our brain be ruled by Kuvera. We are informational and logical.
2. Let our brain be ruled by rAvana. We are emotional.
3. Let our brain be ruled by rAma. Our conscience guides us.
If we realize the conscience in us, we will be ruled by rAma.
