Fantastic article exposing BJP's incompetence when it comes to fixing the communally discriminatory laws passed by the previous Congress Govt.

Some of the points raised in this article have been touched upon in this forum before especially in the thread started by Shri KRN. Still a good article that show the overall true picture.

    Main talking points:

    1) Congress did everything it could to put minorities above hindus. Drafted laws, amended constitution, fought against courts, created institutions such as NCMEI and gave it extra-ordinary powers, kept hindus out of such institutions - Congress did all these to cater to its vote-bank: the minorities especially the muslims and christians, as they are the biggest beneficiaries being the largest minorities in India.

    2) BJP did no such thing to its vote bank - the hindus. Forget about special provisions, BJP did not even give Hindus a level playing field. It did not even try and repeal all these discriminatory laws and provisions against the hindus.

    3) Exposes the so called liberals and seculars for what they are. Fake. Congress which created all the sectarian schemes is considered as a paragon of secularism while BJP which focused on the vikas front and development schemes which were for all without any discrimination against the minorities was pilloried by opeds after opeds for its communalism.

    4) Overall you can conclude Congress is Clever and still rules India despite having only 44 MPs. BJP is stupid in dutifully following Congress' schemes despite having 270+ MPs.

    5) BJP in all probability will lose the next elections and India will likely drown into another term of deep corruption and anti-hindu politics of Congress but BJP will have no one but itself to blame.

Why this melancholy in the Modi world.
He will win 2019, not that it is going to help the poor or common public.
Modiji is the best salesman for India. He is personally clean (so was Manmohanji), but the execution of all great ideas is very poor.

    But he will win.

It cannot be argued that Modi supporters are an enthusiastic bunch. They want to keep Modi ji’s "divinity" intact at all cost. It’s like Jai from Sholay. Veeru may have had a number of flaws, but Jai always has only good things to say about him when mausa ji asks.

So, don’t condemn the arguments of Modi supporters. In the coming days, this discourse will only grow more bitter. There will be attempts to elevate Modi ji to a god-like status, and simultaneously reduce his opponents to vermin.

Modi supporters could also say that India is not safe without him. This means that such an atmosphere of terror will be created that people will end up voting for Modi out of fear.

    Sorry folks have to disagree.

Bjp does not understand governance. In the first few weeks they alienated the entire bureacrazy in Delhi. That's why they lost Delhi by 67 to 3. Entire bureacrazy and it's families and extended corrupt supporters voted in unison against bjp.

Unless bjp can work through the messy bureacrazy and deliver on development and jobs etc.., it will lose 2019. Probably late already.

This is where genius Narasimha Rao did such a fantastic job. The bureaucrats looked up to him as a great statesman scholar leader and delivered a swansong liberalization that is still unmatched.

I dont know the Indian political scene well. My guess is that PM Modi was picking his battles in the first term.

He has made corrupt people angry across the nation. It will be hard to get the second term. If he gets that he will take on all the other issues.
