Religion is supposed to be comforting, but they way it is practiced it is a burden

The link between religion and phobias is strong, but it's not well understood. Although a strong religious faith can bring comfort to you if you're suffering, certain phobias appear to have a religious component. These phobias often appear or worsen during a crisis of faith, but they may occur at any time. And they may happen to anyone, regardless of their religious background.

Religious leaders, like Pujaries and gurujis make money of people, they do not want the followers to have real knowledge.
Then some of them are in it only for the money. They thrive when the common public is scared and has guilt.
These leaders perpetuate the fear and encourage it by promising impossible.
These leaders organize "pujas", sermons etc to advance their goals. They promise the impossible and gullible succumb to it.

This is common in most of the organized religions.

All around the world, unscrupulous individuals are all too happy to cash in on weak-minded, gullible or otherwise vulnerable people.

They include fortune-tellers, feng shui practitioners, soothsayers, witchdoctors, astrologists, exorcists, Shaman priests, spiritual healers and holistic medicine sellers. They all prey on people with more money than sense - the type of people that would rather believe the words of convincing con-merchants than those of the scientific community.

These ruthless, heartless swindlers are raking in countless millions every year by exploiting frothing nutjobs' irrational superstitions. They must be outlawed because the people who hand their cash over to them clearly need protecting from themselves.

The most irrational superstition of all, is that a cunning self-serving "democratically elected" politician, will take care of your future! That he and other politicians like him will make the laws that will serve you well!

If you are so superstitious as that,

Meeting such swindlers might also be part of your karma. You can enjoy it

Members of the 'scientific' community are con-merchants. They figured out E=Mc^2 and thought of the Bomb first.

Truth is: Democracy can exist only in the books. As humans, and as with many other species, our dispositions are differently suited. And I don't mean in a hereditary way. You can't teach a frog how to climb a tree, and most definitely a monkey can one day make up his mind and learn the guitar. There are psychics/shamans/brahmins among us... there are also people with a warrior disposition with a natural trait to lead.

Democracy is a massive PR stunt, because we want to avoid bloodshed in the form of a caste-genocide (French Revolution etc)

    Vanakkam,

Religion is definitely comforting for some major fraction of the society, but exploitation of the gullible public by some unscrupulous people that are in the spiritual/religion based works is indeed condemnable.

Fortune-tellers, feng shui practitioners, soothsayers, witchdoctors, astrologists, exorcists, shaman priests, spiritual healers and holistic medicine sellers should charge a fee for their livelihood. No questions about that, but the charges should be affordable for the public. Exorbitant fees and exploitative behaviours by "some" people in these professions just maligns and adds distrust to these magnificent disciplines/spiritual sciences.
