Is marriage only for sex and children? Indian couple on HONY think so

Is it not that most beautiful relation for a man and his wife is love and affection…?
Is marriage only for sex and children? Indian couple on HONY think so

People from countries where marrying for love is the norm are flabbergasted by this piece of relationship advice.

As Indians, if a couple whose marriage was arranged, tell us that 'love is for useless people', we wouldn’t be very surprised. We may have differing opinions, but that they would think so will not be news to us.

But in other parts of the world where marrying for love is the norm, an Indian man confidently saying, “Marriage is about two things: sexual satisfaction and building generations. Nothing more", can evoke a fair amount of surprise and even shock.
Something similar happened when Humans of New York, the immensely popular Facebook page posted the photo of an old married Indian couple, giving typical 'Indian' advice about marriage. The man behind the page, photographer Brandon Stanton is currently touring the Indian city of Jaipur and has been posting stories from there.

His most recent post, which went up early on Tuesday morning, features some very bamboozled people, mostly non-Indians, in the comments section. Why? Because of this caption that went with the photo:

आहार-निद्रा-भय-मैथुनं च समानमेतत्पशुभिर्नराणाम् । धर्मो हि तेषामधिको विशेषो धर्मेण हीनाः पशुभिः समानाः ॥ Food, sleep, fear and mating, these acts of humans are similar to animals' | Of them (humans), dharma (right conduct) is the only special...

These are the primary purposes of all living beings. Love is play of nature to attract two human beings to create an offspring. Many times Infatuation is mistaken as Love.

Yeah the notion of marriage is evolving. Too bad polygamy is not permitted any more.

Hey why dont we all just admit creation revolves around continuation of species and conception.

A marriage is stronger if there is regular sexual intercourse becos there is release of endorphins which makes us bond to the person or person we are having intercourse with if he or she is going to be our regular partner/partners.

There is no harm realizing this fact and bond better with our partner/partners.

Children are a side effect of sex or at times even becos of failure of contraception.

We Hindus tend to shun away from sex at an older age..thats why we find old nagging women and old grumpy men ..its becos both are not getting regular doses of intimacy.

As we age surely even the Alpha male declines in performance and older ladies wont be able to rival Sunny Leone BUT both husband and wife can still be close by regular hugs..cuddling and alone time.

    Even these acts release endorphins.
So guys if you want your wife to stop nagging you..use the God given weapon of mass recreation!

The adage is “ஆசை அறுபதுநாள் மோகம் முப்பது நாள்”. And here the relationship of between the couple, love, affection, compassion, comfort, etc over takes sex

There are so many things in life, that a couple do together that make their relation great .

Sex is just important for a healthy relationship to strengthened their relationship and unity. But there are lot like mutual affection, loving care, etc between the couple that strengthens their bond, mutual understanding, togetherness, etc etc

After marriage, both the partners do have lot of responsibilities like raising children, earning to enrich their life, they do grow in the process and left alone with children settled at different places. And when age grows, where is libido…?

It is the cherishing feeling of love and affection they share by exhibiting more care, more love and more affection towards each other.

The feeling of intimacy and comfort grows with age and the couple prove they are lovable partners and enjoy life with more pleasure beyond words, but without libido.
